I hired Creative Enclosures 12/2021 to replace 16 glass roof panels. I paid $6,000 upfront, $4,754.26 at the start of the project, & $4,754.26 when project was done. They said they would call me to set up a day & time they could start. They called me 3/25/22 saying that they were on their way. There was no advance notice & I was already on my way to work. On the 2nd day of the project they told me they ordered the wrong size for 4 of the panels, they would need to be reordered & they would contact me again. A couple months passed w/o contact. I reached out asking where my project stood. They came with the correct size glass panels, but the glass panels were the wrong tint. Several more weeks passed waiting for the 3rd order of glass panels to arrive. I was told someone from the company would contact me. Nobody did. I contacted the company again asking where my project stood. The next day they called back saying my glass arrived and they would install it. They came out again on July 28th to install the 3rd attempt at the last 4 glass panes that were previously incorrect twice. On July 29th they requested and received final payment from me. Creative Enclosures breached the contract by not doing four things that were promised- 1) lubricate the sunrooms operable windows and doors 2) remove all debris daily 3) remove any residual silicone with solvent and 4) notify me of any wood rot found so it could be remedied. After they said the project was complete there have been many leaks on multiple occasions. They came back on 8/26/22 & said there were many problems, including wood rot that were not addressed by the workers while installing the panels & to expect a phone call early the week of 8/29/22 to resolve. I reached out on 8/31/22 and 9/1/22 with no response from the company. I have paid for the project in full, and am left w/ a leaky roof & wood rot that the workers did not tell me about so it could be remedied as promised in the contract.

Long story short - We signed with them in March to cover our deck and screen it in.  We were promised a "4-day build that would be finished before July 4th". From there, it was like pulling teeth to get any updates, despite them sending us follow-up bills for permits, materials, and misleading drawings. Finally, in June they said it would start in mid-August. We said that wasn't what was promised and asked for a refund. They said that we were screwed because we signed a contract. We asked what caused such a delay and they just argued with each other in front of us, neither giving us an answer. We would lose the whole summer and their sales "promises" were just sales lies. It was still 2 months before they wanted to start, but wouldn't refund us. We asked the owner for a refund and never heard back from him. In fact, we've never heard from him at all. We felt scammed. We had to cancel vacations, work meetings, and long-awaited family get-togethers trying to accommodate this nonsense. The build finally started in August. The project managers ordered too much wood, which sat in the middle of my backyard for weeks killing all the grass. The wood, when delivered, was covered in mold, animal footprints, dirt, and splinters. The builders did the best they could, but the mismanaged office kept messing things up. Miscommunications from the rude and clueless project managers to the builders and electricians caused immense delays and frustrations. We, the customer, had to be our own project managers communicating with the builders and electricians directly and every day. This is not what should have happened, especially with a company that charged such a high price tag. The roof and 3 screened walls around our 12x12 deck would end up costing more than finishing out 600 sq basement. They finished on 8/25, 18 business days (not 4 days) from the start of the job, and over budget. That is 24 days without being able to use one of our bathrooms (since they never delivered the portapotty), without access to most of the backyard, without using our deck and grill area, and without a screened-in room to enjoy the summer. They didn't replant the hosta that were ripped out. They didn't reseed the grass that they killed. We've finished two basements, bathrooms, demo jobs, and other work with various companies. No other job took as much customer effort as this did. No other job was as unorganized or suffered from a lack of communication as this one. If we weren't diligent with follow-ups or communication to the builders, who knows what would have been built. Again, the builders and electricians are not at fault here. They were able to build a really nice product. They are the only reason for the 2 stars.  Had we known all the effort, anxiety, and nonsense this would have taken when were sold false promises and lies in March, we would have never signed. It simply isn't worth it with this company.

    Creative Enclosures, LLC Response

    08/31/2021

In response to Mr. ********** comments, we’d like to apologize for any frustrations he and his wife are experiencing. It is definitely not our intention for them to have had a poor experience. We are confused as to where the 4 day time-frame came from as our agreement start and completion dates are listed on the signed contract from 6/26-7/31. Due to Covid-19 and supply chain delay issues our schedules have been pushed back significantly over the past 12 months. Due to this we started 2 weeks after our completion date stated on the contract. A project of this scope of work could not be completed in a 4 day time frame. Our design consultant did tell the ********** that he thought the project would be completed within a week. Upon further review, with our production team it was clear that this was a 14-20 day job. When we started the job our carpentry staff was onsite every day until its completion. On Tuesday, June 15th, our Production Manager and our Design Consultant were in a meeting with the ********** *and they vocalized they wanted the project done by July 4th. We informed both of them that this project would not be started or completed by July 4th. The ********** indicated they wanted to cancel the project at this time. The Design Consultant contacted the owner of our company to inform him about this. The owner stated they could cancel, but their deposit monies would not be refunded due to expenses incurred to date. We also offered to let him keep the plans and they could get another builder to complete the project for them. *** ******** declined that offer and used the term he “felt screwed”. Our production Manager, Design Consultant and lead foreman were at the pre-construction meeting with the ********** on August 2nd. This purpose of this meeting is to ensure that all parties understand what will be taken place during the project. Some of the items covered are lumber location, dumpster location, what is going to be built and how, doors, screening, railings, etc. We have found at over 34 years of doing this, this meeting clears up the gray areas and ensures everyone is on the same page. All parties sign off on all the details regarding the project, which included the plans and drawings that have both of their initials/signatures on them with the date of 8/2/21. During this meeting it was discussed the electrical details and interior trim details, which is noted and signed off on. When the project was being built, the *********s asked for the trim on the inside to be changed as well as added electrical work and once they were given the price they became very upset. This is where we believe the over budget comment is coming from. All monies due on the original agreement were kept to and honored as specified. The homeowners requested extra work to be taken care of, which a change order was developed and exact dollar amount noted *** *** **** ******** signed off on. Everything that was and wasn’t included is indicated on their contracted agreement and change order forms. Due to hurricane Henri, there were scheduling challenges with the electrician as emergency calls kept him from finishing up when planned. Once available we rescheduled and kept *** ******** informed of this. We do apologize for not meeting their expectations in this area. With materials being backed up over the last 12 months, scheduling has been extremely difficult to navigate.
