    These guys came in to install a sump pump and piping on behalf of the city of **** ********. They forgot to glue one of the pipes and caused a massive amount of water damage and clean up for us. They admitted their fault but are now refusing to pay for the clean-up and our wasted time. Their owner, Greg B*******, never seems to be around. The city of **** ******** needs to stop working with these low-quality contractors. We're looking into legal remedies now that they refuse to work with us.

    We did install a sump pump at this property in conjunction with the **** not the Town of **** ********.

    After we completed the installation the property owner called us and emailed us saying one of the pipes had come apart and sprayed water all over his basement.  We promptly sent a crew out to fix this pipe to prevent it from happening again.

    The homeowner's wife called us with concerns about the sediment the ground water left on her floor and throw rugs.  We contacted a cleaning crew we work with and scheduled & confirmed with her -  a time of after 4pm with the homeowner's wife.  We forwarded their address to the cleaning crew to assess the situation and instructed them to coordinate with the property owners on a day/time to come clean up their basement.   

    The cleaning crew arrived at the property as confirmed with the homeowner and knocked on the door, no one answered.  They came back several times over the next hour (from shortly after 4 pm until 5 pm) and no one answered the door. The property owner did not call to say they would not be home for a confirmed appointment.  They did not email to say they would not be home for a confirmed appointment.

    The property owner called today stating that now he wanted restitution for his time spent cleaning, we declined.  We scheduled a cleaning crew and the property owner was not home at the scheduled/confirmed time.

    He then stated that he was going to seek legal action, we have a strict policy to stop any/all communication with property owners who threaten legal action.  There is nothing more to discuss if they have their mindset on legal action.  We chose to let the lawyers work it out.

    I am rejecting this response because:

    No one showed up to our place to clean nor did we receive a call. When we asked for the cleaning companies information to verify, the company refused to share it. 

    Given I spent over 12 hours cleaning and clearing water (much of it in the middle of the night), due to this company’s admitted negligence, restitution for my time is called for. Had they done the job right the first time, they wouldn’t be in this situation.

    Given their unwillingness to do the right thing now, they leave us no choice but to pursue legal action and make sure the *** knows about their partner’s negligence and improper business dealings.
