Firetech renovated my shower (ie. retiled and replaced the solid base, etc). The work was completed in May of 2023 with a year warranty. In April of 2024 I noticed the shower was leaking in the basement and contacted them. The project manager came out and initially claimed it was my fault for replacing the shower head but in order to prove he would have to cut a hole in the bathroom wall. It was not the shower head. For months he would intermittently come back (when I pinged him) to try and identify the problem with 2 additional holes being cut in the wall. He did provide a plastic cover for 2 of the holes which I was not going to use. The problem was finally identified and fixed this spring. ( the sealing the workers did between the base and the tile wall was not water tight) But the project manager said I agreed to the holes being cut and they were not going to repair them. The owner is now ignoring my calls/texts. I just want the holes repaired and the wall repainted as the problem was in the original work done by the company. This is not a rental house and those covers are not something I would ever have agreed to as a permanent solution. They look cheap. I want a clean solid bathroom wall.

We had done repairs at ********* bathroom after a few months she called that the shower was leaking .The project manager went over to look at the leak they had put on a new shower head so he assumed that was the problem. He cut three access holes and told ********* that we would not repaint we would supply access covers she was ok with that. The small leak was found and repaired. Now she wants us to repaint the wall after the project manager told her we would install access covers which we did.

I am rejecting this response because:  it is not correct.   The project manager initially insisted the leak was due to a new showerhead and that he was doing me a favor by coming to look.   He intimated that cutting that initial hole would not be repaired since it was my fault there was a leak.  He clearly expected the hole would prove I was at fault.  If that had been the case I understand the repair would be my responsibility.  But since it was not due to the changeout of the showerhead I do not accept this   The second and third holes were cut during subsequent visits by the PM to identify the actual source of the problem...which was the faulty seal the workers did.   When the PM came and indicated he needed to cut a second hole I asked if there was any other way to identify the problem and he said no.   At that point I said the holes would have to be fixed and repainted after the problem was identified and fixed.   Neither he nor I ever completely spelled out who was going to be doing the wall repair.   Since the leak was a problem on their end,  I see no reason why I should be expected to foot the bill for the repairs to the holes the PM indicated was needed during trouble shooting.   I expect the holes to be repaired as part of the warranty

    Sincerely,
