On 4/21/2016, BBB conducted a review of the website for this business and noticed the business claiming to do a number of types of projects which require a Home Improvement Contractor's license (e.g. retaining walls & walkways, patios, fences). However, the website had no mention of a license. In accordance with Connecticut General Statutes Sec. 20-427, a Home Improvement Contractor must state in any advertising for the business that he/she has a license to perform such services along with the actual registration number. Because no license was listed, BBB tried to verify the existence of an HIC license allowing the business to conduct the work stated, but found their license had expired on 11/30/2014. BBB has attempted to contact this business several times via phone and email, leaving messages when possible, but as of 8/22/2016, the business failed to respond.
Consumers should exercise care when hiring a home improvement contractor, and always verify that such contractors are properly licensed by the Department of Consumer Protection.
