Our child was enrolled in the **** ******* location of Educational Playcare from 8/31/21 to 2/9/22. Upon enrollment, we submitted a $530 deposit, which was due to be returned upon final exit from the childcare center. Due to the continuous Covid shutdowns we gave our 30 days notice at the beginning of February for a March withdrawal. Shortly after giving our notice there was another mandatory 10 day shut down, and the center director advised us that we could officially withdraw on February 9, 2022, instead of the originally agreed upon day in March. Tuition was always paid a month in advance, which now meant we were owed returned tuition from 02/10/22 to 02/28/22, in addition to the $530 deposit. Our refund was not readily offered to us so we began inquiring about it with direct phone calls and e-mails to the center director starting on the week of May 9th, 2022. After one unreturned phone call and 2 emails, we were told the credit card on file was declined for a refund and that we should submit a form with an appropriate card to refund. On May 24th, the refund form was submitted back to the center director who said billing would process it. After seeing no refund on our statement, another email was sent to inquire about the status of our refund. We were told by the center director on 6/9/22 that they would check with the billing department again and would get back to us with an update. As of 6/27/22 we had received no update so I sent another email inquiring about our refund status. As of today, 7/2/22, we still have not received a reply. At this point we feel we have no choice but to report this to the BBB to help initiate a proper and expeditious refund, and to help bring attention to the questionable accounting practices of the childcare center, Educational Playcare. I have included some supporting documentation but have more available to submit if necessary. Thank you.
