My car was part of a hit and run in my work parking lot, I thought it would save me some money from my insurance deductible to order the painted fender myself and have someone I know put it on for me. Things fell through, which is when I stopped into this auto repair shop asking if they could swap it out for me. The man told me they didnt do bodywork anymore as they didnt have anyone qualified but would help me out. Red flag for what I wanted, yes, but I trusted them as I was referred by my coworker. When I got the call it was ready, they told me there was damage to the fender (paint chipped and small dent). I got there and they showed me, not pointing out the part wasnt even put on correctly and the spacing was noticeably off. I am very upset with my experience, I think they should have informed me as soon as they realized the fender I brought to them had some damage since I hadnt told them beforehand it would instead of putting it on anyway and telling me after, after the labor is already done and I owe them. I didnt know what to say at the time, paid, left and later expressed my concerns to the owner. I told him I didnt want any issues, and that I just wanted him to know I was upset with my experience. He told me he takes good care of his customers and would get this resolved. I had already been scheduled at that time by an employee to come back in for another swap on them because I would rather have the original fender back on my car and he understood where I was coming from. When I got to my appointment early Friday morning, I was informed by the employee that the owner said he wanted nothing to do with my situation anymore and they wouldnt help me. I asked for my original fender back as they still had it, the owner put it in my car without saying a word and walked back inside. I was angry but couldnt believe what had just happened. I feel taken advantage of and do feel that if I were someone else, this possibly would have been handled differently.

Friday September 16th I drove my car into Nichols because I had broken my oil pan on the highway and the car was about to break down. I was informed to call my insurance because the estimate was going to be high. Also that they would charge more labor hours if the insurance approved it and less if they didnt. So I called the insurance and submitted a claim. Nichols then decided to order the parts and do the repair same day without telling me how much the repair was going to cost and just assumed the insurance was covering it. At the end of the Day Friday September 16th, I was told that the repair has been completed and that the charge was $1950. Confused, I told them I haven't heard back from the insurance and didn't hear back until that Monday. The claim was eventually rejected because I only have liability. I did not sign anything or agree to such repair nor did I not know how much the repair was going to cost . Had the repair been estimated at $1950 I would have not gone through with it. This place took advantage of a desperate situation without my approval. I did not sign anything or know the cost beforehand. Now they will not work with me on the price as they are charging me the same price they sent to the insurance. They intend on keeping my vehicle and I need my car back.
