  On May 1, 2024, Neuropathy Specialists LLC sought accreditation with Better Business Bureau. During the vetting of the application, BBB reached out to the owner of Neuropathy Specialists LLC seeking further understanding of its operational activities, and sought substantiation, modification, or discontinuance of the following health claims reflected in Neuropathy Specialists LLC's advertising:
  
  That it operates an in-person clinic for clinical trials and treatments. Specifically, BBB was seeking the name of the clinic, how this clinic is overseen and run, and whether there was a  licensed medical professional staff administrator present.
  
  Refers to clients as "patients," when no professional medical licensing was given with the application to confirm and verify. BBB believes that this wording implies the assumption that anyone contacting Neuropathy Specialists LLC are "patients" under the care of a medical professional, or that they are Neuropathy Specialists LLC's patients.

  Neuropathy Specialists LLC registered with the CO Secretary of State on February 10, 2024, when Neuropathy Specialists LLC's website states the following:
  
  "We have been treating Neuropathy of the feet and hands since 1999."
  
  "At Neuropathy Specialists, all we do is Neuropathy, and we have spent the last 20 years perfecting the most comprehensive and effective treatments for Neuropathy."
  
  

  The above advertisement implies that Neuropathy Specialists has "been in business" since 1999.
  
  BBB requested that the following health claims found on Neuropathy Specialists LLC's website and social media be substantiated in the form of documentation or scientific proof, modified, or discontinued:
  
  

  "85% effective at reversing damage done by neuropathy."
  
  "Has Helped 1000's Break Free from their neuropathy pain."
  
  "Our goal is to HEAL Damaged Nerves and Restore to Vital Circulation"
  
  "Device and therapies offered can actually repair the damage done by neuropathy and prevent it from progressing."

   
  
  Clinically Proven Research Studies

  Request for additional licensing for tele-med health services via medical providers, including how the company can give the medical advice to clients when they might already be under the care of their own primaries or healthcare professionals.

  There are references and images, to research from Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology, but does not share studies on website. BBB requested Neuropathy Specialists LLC provide the links to these studies for review.

  Claims Alpha Lipoic Acid "plays a role in reducing neuropathy symptoms."
  
  Neuropathy Specialists sells a Formulated Alpha Lipoic Acid Nerve Repair Supplement. This supplement is advertised as a "nerve repair" supplement. BBB has not been able to verify these claims and whether there is a money-back guarantee if not promised the advertised results.
  
  Water Immersion Electrotherapy Helps Treat Neuropathy
  
  "This new research shows not only sustained decreases in pain symptoms but increase in sensation and proprioception and other nerve activities. This shows that this therapy is not just for pain relief but can actually help aid in the repair and regeneration of these damaged nerve fibers.   BBB asked Neuropathy Specialists LLC to substantiate the "new research" and give potential clients references in the form of links to studies that back these claims up to follow the BBB Code of Advertising regarding health claims.
  
  "Journey back to healing"
  
  BBB strongly suggested Neuropathy Specialists LLC to refrain from the use of the word "healing," as this is not the case for all clients or people. This is considered a definitive statement as it gives a sense of false hope for all who are suffering from neuropathy.
  
  Neuropathy Specialists LLC's customer reviews claim that at home treatment makes neuropathy "go away" and "I was able to get off my medication completely!" These are considered definitive statements that are dangerous and misleading. Any customer reviews that state that the company's products or devices allowed them to go off their medications or the advice of their medical professionals is high risk, draws red flags, and we strongly urged that the company discontinue using them in its advertising. These references give anyone who suffers from neuropathy a sense of false hope that they, too, will be able to ditch their scripts for the use of its devices and supplements. Even if the reviews are coming from a third party source, they are considered the voice of the company, and need to be modified or discontinued.
  
  "Is the treatment FDA cleared? Yes. These forms of treatment have been cleared by the FDA for treatment of peripheral neuropathy. Though these devices are cleared by the FDA for use. The FDA has not evaluated their efficacy in the treatment of neuropathy and the FDA does not endorse or evaluate the statements made about the effectiveness of their treatment, only that they are approved to treat those specific conditions."
  
  BBB highly suggested that Neuropathy Specialists LLC place the official FDA Disclaimer clearly at the bottom of its website where it is easily accessible for review by potential clients.

  
  Clarification of the company's 30-day money back guarantee
  
  BBB believes that the goal to assist people getting off their meds completely with a kit that has a 30-day money back guarantee seems unrealistic and high risk, too.
  
  As of May 16, 2024, Neuropathy Specialists LLC has not responded to the BBB to address the above advertising claims and concerns.
