I cannot recommend CCAO. I have been going here over year, only because I was hoping each visit I'd experienced was a fluke, so i'd give them another chance, and I didn't want to start all over again looking for a new doctor and explaining my history, etc., There are also limited options for Rheumatoid providers in the Denver ***** area. ****************** ran a blood test and didnt know exactly what was wrong, so we landed on a generic diagnosis and I began taking autoimmune suppressants. Her treatment didn't work and her diagnosis does not make sense, so I called and asked if I could be switched to another provider at CCAO. The coordinator asked why? I said I'm looking for someone with more experience and didn't feel like ****************** was the best fit for my situation; not personal to her. She said she'd put in the request and call back. Several days later CCAO coordinator called me back, saying the more experienced Dr. ******************** wanted to know why I wanted to switch. I explained, again, that I was hoping for a more senior and experienced provider, as I need answers and believe my case is quite complex and I'd like another point of view. 3 days after that, I get another call telling me ****************** denied my request to switch, and she says that my options are to see ****************** or go somewhere else. I told the coordinator that I was shocked, this seems quite silly, and I am sure its not pleasant for her to even having to relay that message. She then became tense and defensive and told me not to speak for her. I explained I was simply explaining how confused I was and how ridiculous this was to me, and I was not speaking for her. Unfortunately, not all doctors skillsets are equal, this is to be expected. This was nothing personal to ******************. It is my right to get a second opinion, and it is my right to advocate for myself and seek the best possible resources for my individual medical circumstances.. This feels unethical. And like refusal to treat a patient.
