    On June 7th, yesterday, I booked one night at the ******** and Suites on Expedia (for $105.81 Itinerary#**************) after calling the hotel and getting quoted a much higher price ($145/nt + taxes and pet fee). I also clarified what the pet fee was so that I could pay it upon arrival, since Expedia does not offer the option to pay online. Was quoted $20/nt. Upon arrival at the hotel, I was told they would not honor my reservation through Expedia. That I would have to book through them paying the higher rate, because we have a dog. This "policy" was not written anywhere in the hotel description on Expedia. I was then accused of "going around" them by booking through Expedia after calling the hotel to which I replied "yes, of course, they offered a better rate." Since the new total price would be $165+ (far beyond our budget) I called Expedia to cancel. They attempted to reach the front desk agent several times only "to get hung up on." I walked back inside from the car to get clarification and was told by the front desk clerk that he did not have the authority to approve the cancellation and that Expedia would need to call back in the morning. He also told me not to worry, that this happens frequently (?!) and that I would likely be refunded. We ended up staying at a hotel across the street and called Expedia again first thing this morning. The agent was told the cancellation would not be approved by the Argo and that there was no manager they could speak with. I'm currently waiting 3 to 4 days to hear back from Expedia on the matter. I would like for the Argo to authorize the cancellation for a full refund as well as stop falsely advertising on Expedia. If the ******** and Suites does not wish for guests to use Expedia or other booking platforms, they should remove themselves. Otherwise, this sounds like a very dishonest business with a history of unwillingness to change it's practices, knowing how much trouble they cause customers. Thanks for your attention.
