On 2/18/24 I, my Wife, Brother, and former Co-worker where spending the afternoon at chipeta golf course. We had spent $10 dollars at the driving range and $60 on our front 9 round of golf. I and my friends have come here multiple times due to it's relaxed rules, friendly staff, and beginner friendly holes. In fact, I and my party were having a wonderful time until halfway through hole 9.

On hole 9 we were yelled at by an individual (later identified as *****), though he was 120+ yards away so we didn't hear him but got our attention. After he approached us from 50 yards away asked us "WHAT THE **** ARE YOU DOING!?". shocked at the up front profanity we answered that we were playing golf. He then asked why we only had one set of clubs and we explained that we were new to golf and shared clubs. After explaining that we were playing a 4 man scramble and because of such hadn't slowed out pace at all and we we're following all the course rules and we had all paid with proof of purchase. H had admitted that he's never seen it before and that there must be some confusion at the club house and he would go double check. He left and we continued our game.

As we were about to finish our game ***** came back to our party demanding us to forfeit our game and come to the club house. We were all shocked and thankfully after a few minutes of talking we were able to talk him into letting us finish. Though we we were able to finish our game the experience had been ruined. After finishing the 9th hole we went to the club house to sort out this mess. Upon entering the womaning running the club house apologized and said we were all good. Both employees apologized and they offered us free club rentals since us only having one set was the concern apparently. After asking if that was policy she deflected saying it was common on other course. After pushing the question she said it was despite finding nothing on their website before or after even hinting at such. We promptly left after.

    Hi *******,

Thank you for following up.  I am sorry that I missed your call.

Just in brief for my response everything that ***** wrote did happen
according to my employees, other than some slight name confusion with
    the employees involved.

***** ended up writing on the night of the 18th to our course
Superintendent, **** ****.  As a Superintendent he mainly takes care
of all of the maintenance, grass growing, and machines on the course
and was not the person that ***** needed to speak with, **** did
however send the email along to me the next morning, which I responded
to after hearing from my employees what happened from their point of
view.  I obviously offered to comp ***** and his family the next time
they were out along with giving them carts and rental sets for as long
as they needed.  What seems to have happened is that since the
response came from my email it was probably discarded or missed along
the way so ***** never saw this response.  A few days later he emailed
**** **** again saying that he had gotten ahold of the BBB and was
disappointed that he hadn't heard back from us, understandably so.
Luckily even though ****** last day was the day before he did forward
me the email again once more and I used it as a chance to reach out
again to ***** who finally saw my emails.

I believe that all is well between us at this point and that the
situation has been resolved.  They were even out golfing a couple
times this last week and I got to introduce myself to the group on
Saturday.  I will attach the emails that were sent between us and if I
need to do anything else please let me know.  Thank you!
