BEWARE: I booked one night at the Ponderosa Lodge thru *******. Our stay was booked 2 months prior to our planned trip to Rocky Mtn. Ntl Park. ******* sent me an email confirming my reservation and total fee of $114.58 to be charged at the hotel when we arrive. To my surprise I noticed the lodge deducted two charges from my account - one for $165.50 and another for $140.04 totaling $305.54. It was very difficult to reach anyone on the phone but when I finally did I was I asked to leave a message with the manager (Josh), who would be in the office in the morning, so I left him a message. I did not hear back so I emailed the manager stating concern for the unexpected charges from my account and to please call me and sent him a copy of my email from *******. The manager replied stating "This shows the deposit payment value and the estimated time the charges will be incurred. We were not able to charge the card provided". There was no deposit required through ******* and the amount was due upon our stay. I emailed invoices from my banking account showing that the lodge did in fact deduct over $300 from my account and to please call me to discuss. I received another email from the manager stating he has not received any money /deposit from me to hold the reservation. I called the lodge the next morning and the manager answered the phone and was very aggressive in his communication. He didn't let me speak and explain what was going on. He accused me of harassment. When I was able to get a few words in and told him that I needed his help, he hung up the phone on me. A few minutes later I received an email showing that my reservation was canceled at the lodge. I have since had to go to my bank to contest the charges and place a block on any future charges attempted from Ponderosa Lodge. This whole experience was very disheartening, but we found lodging elsewhere for the dates we reserved at RMNP and are looking forward to our trip. I would not recommend the Ponderosa Lodge to anyone.
