    I had my 2010 ***** GX460 SUV dropped off at Rocket Garage on May 12, 2025. I was having issues with the engine. ***, the shop owner, said he would look at it and see what was wrong. After a diagnostic exam, he concluded that the engine would need to be replaced. He said it would take a few weeks to source an engine. I then did not hear from him again for weeks. I reached out to him via phone call at least twice a week, leaving voicemails. With no response. When I finally got ahold of him, he was telling me he was having trouble finding a suitable engine. To which I then found one myself online, and emailed over to him. For one reason or another he stated that it wouldn't work but that he had a guy who had one that he was willing to sell us. This was then proceeded by another 2 weeks of unresponsiveness and missed phone calls. I reached out to multiple other shops to see if they would work on my truck instead, but none would touch it because of the complexities of an engine and because *** had already worked on it during his diagnostic exam. I was finally able to get ahold of him 3 weeks ago where he was angry with me for calling so many times. So he was clearly aware of my attempts for an update. He informed me he was ready to buy the engine and that I just needed to come down and pay for it. I went down Thursday, July 18th after work and paid him $6,000. He told me that he would have the engine that Friday or Monday and that the car would be ready in about a week - week and a half (July 30). It is now August and I still have not head from *** and he has not answered my phone calls or voicemails. I have spent over $1,000 in Ubers and ride shares, I have not been able to make it to preplaned events nor enjoy my summer. My mental health is at an all time low, and I am sure he will require me to pay more for labor and parts upon completing the fix, in addition to the $6,000 I have already spent. It has been over 2 and a half months without a car. I am fed up.
