5 starsIn 2020 I had my taxes prepared by a local tax agency. There were questions that the tax preparer couldnt figure out since I had a huge change in income, etc. in 2019. So the tax person wrote a letter explaining the situation and I mailed my taxes in February 2020. Then we went into lockdown due to Covid19. Fast forward to 1.5 years later, I get a letter from the *** saying I owe over $18K for 2019 taxes. I was unable to resolve this with the *** and the people who filled out my taxes. Enter Boxelder Consulting. I met with *** and he felt confident that they could get to the bottom of my situation. He did not promise victory, but he promised to do his very best. They did my 2019 taxes again and I still owed a lot of money, but not as much. Recently, the *** rejected their preparation of my taxes. *** and ******* got on the phone with an *** agent and worked a miracle. As it turns out, I dont owe any back taxes and Im getting a refund for 2019. Shut-the-front-door! Just slam it. Boxelder dug deep and pulled out a win for me. I cannot tell you how stressed I have been over this situation loss of sleep, loss of hair, loss of appetite, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, etc. You get the picture. Who has $18K laying around? Certainly not me. Im on disability and my income falls into the category of impoverished or broke af. *** called me and told me the good news and when we got off the phone, I fell to my knees, in tears, thanking God for sending me to Boxelder, thanking God for *** and his team, ******* and *****. This massive burden has been lifted off my shoulders and I cannot thank Boxelder for going above and beyond and finding a way. Thank you!**Review fromKaren S

5 stars*********************, Esq., was very courteous and transparent. He could have easily recommended me to pay a huge retainer to his firm but instead advised me to get free legal help for my specific issue rather than throwing good money after bad. I feel like he had my best interests in mind. Thank you very much! I will try to follow his advice and see if I can get a resolution without spending more than it's worth.Review fromElizabeth S

5 starsMy mother is 87 years old with dementia, and resides in a nursing home. I hold her POA and am 100% responsible for her. ********************* of **************************** Relief provided me with free consultation on dealing with a tax issue my mother was facing. His advise and perspective on the issue was extremely helpful, and will save me a great deal of time and headaches. I am very grateful that ***, and Boxelder offer this service to our community!Review fromLaurence S

1 starI needed assistance with my tax situation and looked into Boxelder. I was told to pay $500 for an initial appointment as well as to gain access to my *** records. After the appointment, I was told they needed to examine my previously filed tax returns for another fee of $300. After that appointment, I decided to seek out another firm as I felt as though I would be slowly bled for fee after fee and that no defined plan as to how they would work with my tax situation was ever presented as stated on my receipt for the consultation.Approximately two years later I found they were continuing to file documents to the *** without having communicated with me. I was disappointed at their lack of transparency and communication during that two year period. When I contacted the firm about my findings, it took three days for me to receive a return call. During that call, I was talked over, berated and cursed at.Boxelder Consulting LLC

*****,Unfortunately, your narrative and version of events is verifiably false and conveniently missing key pieces of information and explanation.During the worst of COVID, you engaged our firm and granted us authorization to take any action we saw fit, within the parameters of our ethical obligations as licensed tax professionals. You continually fail to understand this critical piece of information. You also claim to have hired another firm during this time, who should have had you sign the exact same standard IRS forms you did with Boxelder. These updated Powers of Attorney should have superseded our authority - and for some reason they did not. You continually fail to either hold yourself accountable for this, or your new firm. You also never advised us of this change - either with a phone call that would have taken less than 2 minutes, or with a quick email.Additionally, it was typical at that time for us to file appeals to keep our clients protected despite longer periods where there was a lack of contact. Due to the unprecedented economic effects of the pandemic, we viewed it as a professional and ethical obligation to help our clients with this service - free of charge. For some reason, you view this as a bad thing. When you finally advised us to close your file, we did so immediately. I'll note that this was over three months ago and occurred without incident. Out of the blue on Friday, you contacted my office incessantly via phone and email, threatened my staff, and cursed at me over the phone - not the other way around. Accordingly, we were forced to take the extraordinary step of blocking your phone number and email.Despite trying repeatedly to explain how our representation worked, and how the actions we took benefitted you, you remained unhinged and out of control. In short, we agree it is best that we parted ways, because we simply do not tolerate this behavior from prospective, existing or former clients.Steve

*irst and foremost, we NEVER had a client relationship. I was told the power of attorney was specifically so that your firm may obtain the iRS records, nothing more. After the review of my previous tax filings by your CPA, I decided that I should continue to look elsewhere for a firm that would handle my situation. I was very surprised to hear the *** showed you as a firm having power of attorney this past *all. Upon hearing that, I immediately contacted your firm to request your firm send notice to the ***. I was given assurances that the task was completed and sent a confirmation. I was surprised to be notified by my current tax advisor that your representative had filed a petition for a hearing in December of 2021. I had not been contacted by your firm for over 15 months when unilaterally, without attempting to contact me during that time, I discovered your represented acted by filing paperwork with the iRS. After that filing, your firm never contacted me by phone or in writing to even advise me or provide me with copies of the filing. Last week, as a result of your unlilateral action, I was surprised when my current advisor) sent me copies of a hearing in ******, ** that your firm requested! While you claim it was my responsibility to inform you of my selection of another firm. I believe your firm should have a responsibility to follow up with individuals before filing official documents and afterward, especially after having had no contact with the individual for well over a year. Your firm did neither. Upon receiving that notice and looking to see who it was filed by, I attempted to contact you. I advised the person answering the phone of my availability for a return call. I didn't receive a callback. I called the next day (once) and again, left a message, and didn't receive a return call. I and waited another day called back a third time. Later that day, I received a voicemail stating you were sorry for the phone tag and for me to call back. I did so.When I did call back, the first thing you asked in an aggressive tone was why was I calling "thirty times?!". I then attempted to explain that I had received a hearing notice and wanted assurance that your firm had withdrawn from my case, that I would recieve copies of my file and copies of any further notices I might expect as a result of your unilateral actions. My attitude and tone was only one of concern from the beginning, nothing more. At each contact I was polite and reassuring to the employee answering that I would be polite. What I received in return was an individual that would allow me to ask a question, proceeded to be overbearing and condescending, would not listen and then proceeded to drop curse words (the * bomb) into the conversation. You were a verbal bully throughout the entire "conversation". Yes, I finally became so exasperated at your attitude, your berating me, and my inability to get a word in edgewise that I admittedly became frustrated, called you a name and hung up. *or that, I apologize as I should not have lowered myself to your level.I was genuinely shocked as any leader of a company I've ever observed or encountered takes pride in their ability to communicate, exhibit empathy and attempt understanding. The bottom line is that you were so overbearing, I couldn't get a word in edgewise. You never attempted to listen to my concerns about why you never kept me informed of your filings. When I mentioned i was glad to have selected another firm, you then proceeded to berate me as if not communicating with a supposed "client" after 15 months was an acceptable and responsible form of corporate behavior. Your lack of willingness to accept responsibility for actions, lack of basic communication skills, and excuses for supposed altruistic behavior are nothing less than unmitigated gall.Review from

1 starWe are very disappointed with the services of **************************** Relief. A year ago we started working with them. They promised us various of their services which they were never able to provide for the full 100%. After a meeting with one of their staff members, we asked their founders by e-mail for some more help because we felt we were not in sync. In his response he started lashing out to us and was never willing to discuss our concerns. We considered his behavior and reaction very unprofessional. Although some of their staff members were helpful, professional and responsive, we cannot recommend this company to anybody.Boxelder Consulting LLC

Loek,Thank you for your feedback. Ultimately, due to untenable communication problems, this was not a professional relationship we wanted to continue. We terminated the relationship and refunded all unearned fees. We wish you the best moving forward with your new firm.Review fromJeremiah H

5 stars************************** conducted their initial consult, providing me with the ultimate gift... honest ************************* was delivered with regards to their abilities given the tax situation I presented. Clear and concise feedback for "next steps" & given my situation, this was the relief I had previously overspent personal resources trying to obtain clarity on. Thank you for your candor & more importantly, efficient assistance, thus allowing me to gain further insight into the realms of navigating the vast IRS parameters. More specifically with regards to facilitating assistance via a Tax Payer's Advocate to address tackling the couple of years of back taxes owed, due to accountant errors & gross neglect from falsely advertised as "professional services" rendered prior to our consult. Respectfully, *****************************Review fromTami
