On February 21, 2022 I pre-paid $1,440 for 12 sessions of chiropractic/acupuncture services at Ascent Health (the "Bronze Transition" plan). Pre-paying 12 services meant that each session would be $120. I used 3 sessions of the 12 on 2/21/22, 3/2/22 and 3/9/22. On 3/14/22 my father died unexpectedly outside of the U.S., and I stopped going to Ascent Health and did not schedule any further appointments because I was busy working with a local cemetery to have my father's body returned to ********, and then organize subsequent actions for his cremation, a memorial service, etc. On July 18, 2022 I called Ascent Health asking to have my remaining balance for 9 sessions refunded explaining that my father had passed away and that I had other priorities to attend to, and that I preferred to pay for each appointment individually going forward. On July 19, 2022 ***************************, who owns Ascent Health and is also the person I saw for my appointments in Feb. and March 2022 returned my call. She told me that she would offer to reimburse me $450 but I would have to sign an agreement that said I would not make disparaging comments about Ascent Health. At $120 per session, I felt that my remaining balance was $1,080 ($1440 - $360), so $450 is less than half of what was remaining on my balance. I offered to pay the full price for my 3 appointments, which she quoted as $165 per session, or $495 for the 3. $1440 - $495 = $945, and that is what I think I am owed by Ascent Health for my 9 unused pre-paid appointments. ***** said she was going to speak to her attorney about writing a document for me to sign that said I would not write a negative review of her business, but I never heard back from her. I would like to ask for the BBB's help in refunding $945 for the 9 appointments I paid for in advance, but did not and will not use.
