Dax Electric did all work to our addition. We are to final trim out and inspection. During the final trim out his employee fell thru our garage ceiling and landed on a Duramax truck- and did damage. Then they damaged a new floor when installing floor outlets, and tried to cover it up and I saw it, and he did not assume responsibility, he said it was like that before. He asked for an inspection and failed. Furnace was plugged in not hardwired like code and a new breaker was needed because it kept tripping the breaker. The inspector also stated the island is needing 4 outlets one hole and this has not been completed, he also says its a charge up (without a change order) to do so. He also ruined the ***********, it was done terribly. He doesnt know what the diaode the city is talking about and that still needs to be done. The pantry lights do not work. He is demanding payment when he has not fixed these things, and I am waiting for insurance info for the truck repairs. He was confrontational when I said I would not pay for the trim final until after he does the right work, and an inspection clears. All around he has charged a premium price for terrible work. I will not give payment until I get this all done. ***** is the final payment.

In Response to BBB Complaint ID #********
    Filed by ***********************
There were 13 items on the complaint and I would like to address each one separately:
    1. During the final trim, one of my subcontractors did fall through the roof of the garage ceiling and damaged the Duramax truck.  He also damaged the ceiling of the ******************************** let ***** know that my company Dax Electric would take full responsibility for the accident and I would pay for all the damage.  Solution, currently the truck is being repaired this week 11/26, and I am waiting for ******************** to let me know the cost.  I did repair the ceiling of ****************. ***** is claiming there was damage to a new floor when installing floor outlets.  My subcontractor assured me he did not do the damage. Solution, I will take responsibility for the damage, ***** says she will accept taking off $250 from the Add-on bill.
    3. Failed inspection, the reason the inspection failed had nothing to do with any of the electrical work that I completed. The inspection failed because the inspector said there was incomplete work on the outside of the house where the outlets were to be installed.  ****** said she was waiting for siding to be installed and asked me to wait to install the outlet until the siding was put up. Last we talked; the siding still had not been installed. Solution, will plan to be present when the final inspection is done and will address any failed comments.
    4. Furnace was plugged in, not hardwired, like code and a new breaker is needed because it keeps tripping. I explained to ***** several times that the furnace needed to have a ground fault. Solution, I did change the breaker and believe this has solved the problem.
    5. Per inspector, island needs a 4-outlet circuit.  On the original prints, the bid had two outlets, one on each side of the island. After the inspection, the inspector said a 4-outlet should be installed.  There is an additional upcharge for this work, and ***** agreed she would pay.  Solution, I had the subcontractor install a 4-outlet circuit on 11/27/22, to install the 4-outlet, the hole that was cut out was too big for the outlet cover and ***** is dissatisfied with the work.   I told her I would come up with another solution.  Possibly, ordering a new panel for island and re-installing the outlet.  There would be no charge for this.
    6. Ruined the island wood.  As per number 5, the hole was cut too big for the outlet cover. Solution, I will repair.
    7. Diaode the city is talking about needs to be done. Solution, this has been taken care of.
    8. Panty lights do not work.  Solution, the subcontractor was there on 11/27/22 to repair.
    9. Demanding payment when items were not completed.  I had discussion with ***** about getting partial payment for the work I had completed.  She became very upset and said she would not pay me anything until all the work was completed.  Solution, I will work with ***** until she is satisfied with all the items she is requesting be done and then I will request payment.
    10. Insurance information for the repairs on the truck.  I explained to ***** several times that I was going to pay for the repairs from my company.  ****************** said my rates would be increased with this claim and that I should pay for it myself.  Solution, waiting for the repair person to call me with the amount.
    11. ***** is claiming I was confrontation with her about not getting paid. I admit, I did get upset with her when she said she did not want to pay me for none of the work I had already done.   I did apologize to her.  Solution, I will work with ***** and complete all the work she wants done.  As I said above, I had a subcontractor at her residence on 11/27/22 to complete all the work she wanted done.  He was not able to complete the work, due to ***** having an emergency and she had to leave.  When she is ready, I will complete the work she is requesting.
    12. ***** is claiming that I am charging a premium price for terrible work.  That is not a true statement.  My rates are below average and I pride myself on doing quality work.  There were a few mistakes that were made and I plan on repairing them.  Solution, I will work with ***** when work is completed to see if she agrees with pricing.
    13. Final payment is $4,340.  Solution, we agreed that $250 would be taken off for floor repair. I would pay for the repairs on vehicle and I did the repairs on the ceiling of the floor that the subcontractor fell through.
Finally, I have done 300 jobs this year and have not received any complaints.  ***** is challenging to work with, several of the contractors she hired to work, over charged her and did not complete the work. She fired the General Contractor who had difficulty working with her.  ***** is frustrated with this whole remodel project and I tried to be understanding with her.  I will continue to work with her and get the job completed to her satisfaction.

Hello, actually the permit was modern electric and they had to come in and re install everything, including the panel - the furnace was not a ground fault, instead Dax cut the panel and made breakers that were not ***** like the panel.  Dax did not get paid for final work due to failure of poor workmanship. He is not any business I would use especially when all this is his work, yet he places blame and make me the monster. Instead of doing the work correctly. This being said, we fired Able construction due to legal matter that are now in the hands of an attorney. This matter was not solved by Dax Electric, instead, Modern Electric fired him and completed the job, and on their FIRST try they passed inspections. I want no further contact from Dax. Thank you
