- Additional Info:This internet based company came to the attention of your BBB by a concerned consumer. After research into the company, it has been determined that this is a scam. Proamerica.biz tells people that they are working for Proamerica. People think that are working for Proamerica and hire a merchant processing company to process credit cards as instructed. The employee will then keep a percent of the funds and wire the remainder to the Philippines. The scam unravels in a few months when consumers contact the employee questioning why they have not been provided promised services. The merchant processing company does charge backs from consumers, the bank does charge back as well. The employee is left owing consumer's who have not gotten their money back and any bank and processing fees.
When calling Proamerica, they stated they are in Hong Kong, but if questioned further they will hang up.
If you feel you are a victim, please file a complaint with the Internet Crime Complaint Center at www.ic3.gov and your BBB.
