I am a disabled veteran at 70% service connected who is currently homeless looking for residency in Colorado Springs. Before Colorado Springs I was trying to find something in ******. I am getting assistance through the Volunteers of America program and found a house on Zillow posted by Colorado Casa PMI through property manager assistant ************************* at **********************************************. The business and ************************* is located in Colorado Springs. We were supposed to initially meet on 12/14/2023. There was a snow storm and she has to reschedule. I texted her I was going over to see the house by our initial agreement. The garage was leaning at a 30 degree angle, took pictures, emailed her about it. From looking in the windows the carpet was vacuumed, stove and refrigerator were there, and I decided okay I'm ready. I called her and asked for an application. She sent it. Took me two hours to finish and a $50 non refundable fee. There was even a credit check so I lost points too! After I complete everything and pay, THE NEXT DAY she calls me and tells me that she spoke to her property manager in ******, and he said "there is water damage behind the bathroom wall. He's going to have to replace and fix things, the house won't be ready for a couple weeks." I was taken back because I know you're in contact with your manager at ALL TIMES. THIS IS A SCAM FOR $50! ************************* had even previously told me in the very first phone call that the previous tenant just moved out with NO NOTICE. Now after this scam I realize why he probably did. I want to put a formal complaint against this business for being a scam and for false advertising on Zillow getting other people to give their money only to be told the house won't be ready for a couple weeks.
