I asked to see a couple of the puppies on the tankrtots cite and as the lady mentions she occasionally helps friends. I spoke with someone last night who was essentially a puppy broker, who doesnt let you meet any of the puppies without a deposit and will only let you meet one (not at a time, at all). The deposit isnt a problem if you got it back after the meeting because you didnt like the particular dog, but no, youre giving them a deposit without meeting any dogs which is actually a down payment for one of their dogs within 6 months. I told them I have had many dogs in my life and no breeder or responsible dog owner would only meet one dog and make a decision. Its irresponsible to have zero comparison or experience with other puppies theyre supposedly offering. To not be able to see the litter or the other puppies available even if they were if separate locations - as a single mom and a fully transparent person is a huge RED FLAG. I suspect a puppy mill or as I say a puppy broker who potentially middle mans others litters - its hilarious she says to me that she doesnt think we are a good fit. Obviously not, I care about the dog I bring into my family and dont chose a puppy purely on looks : ( yikes.

I understand that people like to purchase puppies the way they are comfortable doing so.  This buyer wanted to see several puppies at once and I explained to her that we show one at a time with a deposit since I, and the breeders I work with, prefer to deal with only buyers and not people who are just looking.  It is safer for our puppies to see only people who want to purchase a puppy and not people who only want to play with one or look and leave.  We do this for the safety of the puppies and for their health too.  This buyer said she was also going to go see a litter of puppies that morning and wanted to see our puppies after that.  When someone goes to see another litter they can bring potential virus' to our babies as well from the other places they have visited.   Breeders are not pet stores.  They often have one or two litters a year and are very protective of their babies.  Asking for a commitment is becoming more common because it does eliminate those who don't truly want a puppy.  We only do deposits through PayPal with buyer protection and if anyone isn't happy with their puppy for any reason they can change their mind and move that deposit to another puppy.  We give people half a year to choose a different puppy.  This is the best we can do.  It keeps the buyer happy and us feeling that our puppies are safe. This buying process is also explained on the *** page on my website.  We realize that not everyone agrees with our philosophy and if they don't they are welcome to look for someone else who does it differently.  I was polite and respectful to this potential buyer.  I appreciate her right to do things her way but she insisted on seeing more than one puppy at one time and that's simply not how we do business so I told her I didn't think we would be a good fit for her.  I'm sorry if she found this offensive it's not it's simply an observation.
