****** and ******* ***** signed a Design and Build contract with, and paid $91,485 to, ****** S. ********, Owner, DesignWorks Development, LLC to design and construct an enclosed and covered patio addition. He did not complete, or did not reimburse his subcontractors, $85,050 of the contracted work after we paid his invoices. ****** S. ********, Owner, DesignWorks Development, LLC. committed fraud and theft.****** ******** presented himself as a licensed architect and DesignWorks Development fraudulently offered architectural plans as design services in its contract and invoiced under Cost Code ****** Designers Architect for his services. Mr. ******** is not and never has been licensed to practice as an architect in ********. No officer of DesignWorks is licensed as an architect in ******** and responsible for architecture services that DesignWorks may provide or offer to provide. This professional misrepresentation reveals a repeated pattern of behavior. See District Court of El Paso County Order (Date Filed: 4 June 2023 6:35 PM; Case Number: 2020CV32032). Motion for Contempt in State Board of Licensure v. ********, ****** et a|.We have received no communication from Mr. ******** since Monday, 14 April 2025, despite repeated text messages (13), calls to his cell phone, the most recent was on 20 May 2025 (left voice mail asking for a return call ASAP), and twice by physically going to his place of business on Friday, 18 April 2025 (no answer; left a note on the door to call ASAP with no response) and by making a second attempt on Friday 9 May 2025. Also, three DesignWorks Development subcontractors have completed their work, submitted invoices totaling $12,405, and have not been paid to date. We do not want a future DesignWorks Development customer or client of Mr. ******** to have a similar experience.
