What an absolute nightmare. First Jesus, the owners son, came out to put together a quote, said they'd email me the pricing on Tuesday (it was a Friday or Saturday). Tuesday came and went with no communication so I called to inquire about the quote. Hector, the owner answered and had no idea what I was talking about. After considerable back and forth he finally sent me a quote and we picked a start date for the work a few weeks out as we were leaving town for two weeks. The day came to start the work and they were a co-call no-show. I sent an email to Hector expressing my extreme frustration over them failing to even make an appearance and got a phone call back from him. On the phone he proceeded to give me excuse after excuse about why they didn't show, even suggesting at one point that it was my fault they had blown me off. In an effort to avoid a bad review, Hector offered to start the following week and give us a discount on the work. I was open to this, thinking maybe they should have another chance so I asked what the discounted price would be. It should be noted, I had to completely re-explain the project to Hector as he had apparently not been paying attention when I explained it to him the first time around. He said he would get back to me with a discounted quote. More time goes by and not a word from Hector. I then followed up with another text message explaining that what little confidence I had was dwindling. Another phone call from Hector with more excuses and more "it's not my fault" and once again he has forgotten most of the project details I provided him. What's more, I can barely get a full sentence in on the phone before he interrupts to give me more excuses. Finally I'd had enough. I like supporting small businesses and I am sympathetic to the difficulties of running one but Hector and United Tree Service completely failed to do provide even the simplest service. It was a constant battle to communicate with him and it seemed like everything I said to him went in one ear and out the other. I told Hector not to bother coming out because I had completely lost all confidence. To everyone reading this thinking I am exaggerating or embellishing this interaction, believe me, I wish this nightmare wasn't true. Save yourself from an excruciating hassle and take your business elsewhere.
