****** came recommended by some friends we trust. I regret not doing my due diligence and checking his licensing, insurance and accreditations. This nightmare started 33 days ago when I called ****** to help due to my air conditioning not working. He came over and explained that my unit was 20 years old and that it was needing to be replaced. He suggested I replace the unit because freon is hard to find. I agreed and he said it would be $5,500 all in. The next day he comes with the new unit which happened to be too small. He found my furnace to be needing replaced and said he would give me a deal since he had to exchange the incorrect a/c unit. I agreed after he showed me "carbon build up", He quoted me $12, 736 for everything which included return vents he insisted I needed. He insisted on a $8,436 check. We wrote the check. I asked to pull a permit he said my house wouldn't pass inspection and not to bother he refused.****** continued to find additional things needing repair and started to suggest I have him jackhammer the floor since my floor drain wasn't working. Here it is Thursday still no a/c and furnace he said I needed to fix this first. I started to realize he was dishonest when I called a licensed plumber to help with the floor drain. He fixed the slow drain that DID not require a jackhammer. ****** had broken the floor drain cover into my main line so it cost about $1,000 all in to fix his mistake and fix the clog. Two days later the a/c quits working. I asked ****** for a receipt for the units he refused said they were registered under him. I called several supply houses to find out if they would provide a receipt I learned that ****** is banned from buying at most supply houses in ******. I googled ****** where I found countless reviews similar to my experience. I learned that ******** license isn't current which is likely why he didn't want to pull a permit.

I hired *****************************, dba Control Temp, to repair a boiler in my house. Instead, he said that I should upgrade to a furnace and A/C unit and a new hot water heater, but required payment for parts and partial labor ($16049.60). Next, he said I needed a sump-pump and needed to rough plumb and frame part of our bathroom and closet so he could install the piping for the new furnace. At this point, I asked him to permit the job. He refused, saying his license was not up to date and that I would have many more expenditures such as encapsulating the crawl space for the project to pass inspection. Next, he charged me for an upgraded tankless water heater and extra duct work at a total cost of $6000, written as 2 checks - $2800 & $3200.****** started the work and then said that he needed extra ductwork and had to install a gas line at a cost of $6489.20. He then found damage to water lines, that he damaged, while removing the boiler and that would be an extra $1550. He made some repairs, not all, with cheap material that eventually had to be replaced by a licensed HVAC who pulled a permit for the entire project. Total charges by ****** were $36,986.20. By the estimate of the tech who fixed and finished the work that ****** started, the materials ****** purchased cost less than $10,000 and ******** total time on the job would have been less than 16 hours. Most of ******** work had to be torn out due to poor quality.Besides a new HVAC tech, I had extra costs from an electrician to wire the furnace and hot water heater, a plumber to finish the plumbing and handy man to finish framing, which were previously paid upfront to *****************************, he never started some work and never completed any of the work. The extra costs to complete the work are not included in the $36,986.20. ****** refused when I asked him to itemize his parts and labor, and he threatened me if I did not pay him the rest of the money, he thought I owed him. I feared for my safety after that.
