They sent unsolicited pre-approved credit offer to the name of a person who never worked for my business

      Business response

      03/01/2024

      Hi ******,
At BriteCap, we take pride in upholding ethical business practices and are honored to have provided financing to thousands of ********* small businesses.

This direct mail solicitation from BriteCap is an invitation to apply for business financing, not a credit card . The invitation is based on qualifying information we receive from major business credit bureaus, and final approval for funding depends on verifying certain business characteristics, including recent revenue figures.

We hope this information clarifies any confusion. If you have any further questions, you can email us at ************************************ We will also remove your company from future mailings, as per your request.

Got a credit card for my BROTHER send to my home address which is also the address of our small business EYE PHYSICS LLC, owned by me, my spouse, and my brother. It was not asked for. I don't trust businesses that send unsolicited cards in the name. I talked to them and they said it was a marketing tool. Looked like a credit card to me. If it had been stolen out of my mailbox, I can just see the mess that would happen. I told them I had just destroyed the card and I didn't want any further contact from this company. We don't want or need any line of credit. We are doing just fine. We have no employees either. I consider this type of unsolicited stuff to be a bad business practice and unethical. It should be illegal.

I received an *unsolicited* offer with physical card for a Platinum Business account from ForwardLine for me in relation to a LLC business. This card could have been stolen from my mailbox and activated damaging my credit and the business. I currently have and have previously opted out of ALL firm offers of credit with all credit bureaus. I would like to know why I received this offer, why the credit agency shared my information if they did so, and ensure they are held accountable for breaches in law for allowing offers when I have opted out.

I received an actual, physical credit card from ForwardLine in the mail today. It has my company name on it and an unknown name on it as executive...I did not order this credit card!!!! If someone had stolen this from my mailbox they could have activated it and racked-up a lot of debt in my name. This practice is without conscience. This company needs to be stopped from doing this.

I have been sent two unsolicited credit cards within a couple of months. After receiving the second card I decided to file a *** complaint. What if this card was stolen from my mailbox and used. I don't know who these people are or have I ever done business with them or any affiliates that I am aware of. I have attempted to contact them when time permitted but they were closed. I don't want this to have an adverse affect on my personal or business credit. In my research it looks like they did this same thing to others. I need it to stop NOW and some assurance from them this will halt and not occur again, and I won't have any issues with my credit as a result of this unwanted tactics to gain business.

Consumer Response /* (3000, 10, 2021/12/15) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I receive solicitations for my business from a number of companies, but never have I received a physical credit card. Not only was it sent once but it was sent twice. This practice used by this company could be damaging should a physical credit card be stolen from the mailbox. We live in a society where criminals take advantage of opportunities like this. Unfortunately those who have decent credit could fall victim to this unsolicited solicitation. I don't mind getting a mailer looking to aquire my business, but a physical credit card is ridiculous and dangerous. So no I don't accept their canned response. Do better ForwardLine, and find another way! Business Response /* (4000, 14, 2023/01/03) */ We apologize to Mr. **** for overlooking his rebuttal. Although the card enclosed in the mailer looked like a physical credit card, it is stated in the mailer and on the back of the card that it is not. We would like to reassure Mr. **** that each application for business financing goes through an extensive ownership and identity verification process to flag fraudulent activities, and no one other than the confirmed owner of a business is able to obtain business financing from ForwardLine. We hope this addresses Mr. ****'s concerns. Consumer Response /* (2000, 16, 2023/01/05) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) I have no other choice as to accept the weak response/resolution, especially given this obviously isn't something that matters to them they put the issue on the back burner for an entire year. This is a horrible means of doing business, I just won't do business with them even if he opportunity arises. I will however complain again if I get another lame Credit Card from them. Lastly given the options of rating them from 1 to 10 they would be the lowest of '1'. *** thank you for your follow up.
