My mother's favorite pair of leather shoes needed some cleaning and Gioi Shoes was recommended by her co-worker. Her co-worker pays $20 to get her shoes cleaned here. My mom arrived at the shop and the owner raised their voice and said it wasn't $20, that it was $25. My mom, a very unconfrontational lady, agreed. She asked if she could pick it up later today and, again, was told there was "NO WAY!" it would be done the same day, and to pick it up Sunday. My mom said she would pick it up Monday.She called me on Monday/pick-up day, extremely distraught. She sent me a picture of her $400 ******************* shoes, a COMPLETELY different color and SPLOTCHY. The owner stated that this was the color of the shoe, and to pay them $25 or else she couldn't get her shoes back. My mom told me there was some sort of weird wax on it that shouldn't go on a leather shoe. My mom showed the owner the picture of her shoe: that brown/tan color doesn't even exist from the shoe company, so why are they stating that's the color that was "brought in"? They blamed her for being a liar and she was shaken up because she was yelled at.The level of unprofessionalism makes me furious for my mom, who has worked in the area for over twenty years. This place is an embarrassment to the community and the owners should 1) take ownership of their mistakes 2) not charge people who don't speak Vietnamese extra and 3) NOT YELL AT CUSTOMERS(?!?!).
