We own our home next to a property managed by Equity and we are seniors. The fence needs to be replaced. When I spoke to *****, we made it very clear that if a repair was all that would be done, our gardener would repair the fence with metal stakes. Since the fence was leaning, a new fence would need to be completed. First they gave us a quote, then called with a higher quote. We thought they were going to put a new fence in. The day they set for the fence, they only "repaired" it by putting metal stakes on our side. The stakes are unsightly and stand above the fence line. In addition, the stabilizing boards used along the fence are not flush and can 'catch' on clothing or anyone walking by. Not only did they not complete the job, the workers left the water on, left standing water, mud, and large chunks of dirt along the fence. The slats are still broken, and the base board is still broken and shattered in pieces. If we tried to list the property, we would have to rip the entire fence down and put in a new one before we could list it. We have tried to work with them, but they are refusing to work with us. We were told "I'm sorry that you misunderstood that it was only a repair job, not a replacement." And then, I was told, "what is the big deal, it is JUST a fence!"

They are crooks. They have charged for repairs to things that were broken when it was moved into. They kept the entire deposit and are even asking for more. That home was left in BETTER shape. The paper said they replaced a screen door that never even existed. Absolutely horrible.

We were renting from a private LL in *******, **. The hired The Equity Group on or about March 8, 2023. They made contact with us immediately. At that time there were ongoing issues with the *************************************** which included the panel in the house was faulty prior to moving in and resulted in flashing lights, no power in parts AND throughout the property, sparking and smoking electrical panel power surges that impacted both the house features and our property. There were other issues too but this was most dire and Code enforcement had been involved since Feb 2023. The employee from The Equity Group (male Hispanic) was asked if they (PMC) were going to fix the electric problem. The gentleman informed my husband that it was a pre-existing issue and that it's the landlords responsibility. We did I form Code Enforcement of this. The Equity Group NOT ONCE did an inspection from March 8, 2023 through December 31, 2023. However, once we we're supposed to be out of the house, due to a 60 day notice to move (because we went to code enforcement who basically forced the ******** to repair the fire hazard) then The Equity Group wanted to do a walkthrough. The said they didn't know about the panel smoking and sparking. And that's a blatant lie. This complaint is about their falsifying accounts with what's owed to them. I received a bill after moving for $2207.00 which includes a "late fee" for November 2023 rent (which was paid by check in the office) and it shows there was no late fee balance. Late fees for *** and Fed 2024 rent that they refused to accept and returned (I have it unopened) January rent and I have no idea what they did with February 2024 rent as it was never returned or cashed. A "general repair" cost for $125 with no receipt or explanation (and I have photos and videos 200+ of how we took possession and left the property). The Equity Group are scammers. I posted in both ****** and ******* Nextdoor apps to see if it was a fluke with us, it was not!
