My truck was involved in a theft recovery . My insurance allowed me to take my truck to a body shop of my choice . Part of the damages where stolen audio equipment. The paperwork stated what brands and type of audio where to be replaced specifically. The body shop took my truck to get an audio shop not of my choice but where they wanted to . I requested **** in ******* . I was told by the manager that the owner prefers to work with **** stereo of ******* ** . They took several months to complete the truck now going on 5 months which is a long time being there was no extensive damage ( the truck was not crashed ) only a stolen tailgate and broken window motor in the rear passenger side . Cosmetic scratches fender driver side , door side and scratched rear bed side (ding ) . ********** bezel ignition damage and the audio equipment.The big issue is they got the truck back from the audio shop the first time and none of the audio matched the brands or equivalent wattages of the original equipment. Also the estimate called for subwoofers (plural ) and only one was installed . At the time I brought it to the manager *********************** attention .He acknowledged what the paperwork said from my insurance carrier and said he understood and would get it corrected .They where still waiting for a tailgate at the time and said they would finish the truck and get the audio corrected . ( never once did he or the shop make me sign anything that I would be liable for that initial audio correction , not verbally or on paper . I asked them since I had got all the original audio before that I could purchase the correct equipment.They said ok . So I did . Feb 6th they ( above and beyond )said everything was good and the truck was ready but that my insurance wouldnt cover all the audio equipment due to ******** limit on after market parts . I understand that . They now want me to pay for the first installation and restocking fee of the incorrect parts . ( this is the problem)
