    High Tech Pet My opinion is that this product is really not "High Tech." The Power Door failed twice (1st within 3 months, 2nd within 1 year of replacement, and under their technicality - 15 months from the original purchase - thus out of their 1-year warranty). For the first failure, the company originally asked me to try to dismantle & repair (which I thought was odd, but attempted with no success) prior to replacing the unit under warranty. For the second failure, after being out of the original purchase warranty by 3 months, they refused to replace the unit & only offered parts to try to have me repair it. Final thoughts: the Customer Service at High Tech is defensive rather than empathetic. Their defense of their product is that 1) it is mechanical & should wear out based on usage 2) the product is protected by a 1-year warranty. 3) they will send parts at no charge & try to help me repair their product. My opinion is that a reasonable expectation is that their product should last more than 3 months (or a year for that matter) and should be replaced.

    We bought two of these doors for our new home build. We replaced the big door within months due to it always malfunctioning. On Saturday the little door opened and let our yorkie out and then did not open and let him back in and he died to the extreme heat temps. He was my disabled son's dog and we are absolutely devastated. What is worse when I called the company to let them know they were not surprised. Do not buy this door or support any company who sells these knowing this is problem.

    I purchased the wifi door. Much like other reviews, save your money. The wifi rarely works. I get it connected, 5 minutes later its disconnected again. Continuously a pain in the butt to stay connected. Constantly resetting the door, wifi, phone, etc. The door itself works fine thus far, but don't waste your money on the wifi door. The wifi does not work. Cool concept though.

    I purchase the automated dog door in November 2022. I love this door. I have it plugged into a smart outlet and we can control it by the app. If it’s raining I can lock the door. I had called customer service to order a replace plastic door because it got scratched up on something inside and no questions asked they are shipping me the new door the same day at no cost. I have dealt with the company for over a year and think their customer service and their product is the best. Thank you

    No one answered the phone for customer service or returned my call until several hours after they opened (the same day as my install was supposed to occur). The instructions were for the smaller doors, so I wondered if I had received the wrong size. That ended up not being the case.
    I purchased a Tall medium. pet door that was a sliding glass insert. We have Anderson windows and doors, which I thought would be relatively standard for fit. I hired a handyman to help install the door. The door did not fit into the track but only "on top" of it, making it less secure. Also, since we had locking mechanisms and handles on both sides of the sliding glass doors, the pet door did not work for us. When we finally received a call from customer service, her reply to us was, "on our website, we say that it fits MOST doors." I asked for someone who might be able to provide a workaround....but no return call. We packed up to return it, hoping for help with the return postage. It costed me $80 for the handyman and $117 to mail the huge, heavy door back to California.
    I want other people to know about this business, that someone better MAKE SURE that the door will fit before spending a ton of money to return it.

    I DO NOT RECOMMEND DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. H******, the customer service manager, told me it was best I return my WIFI pet door because it is only meant to be operated by the electronic collars, not the apps remote controller when outside of the home, even though the website advertises controlling from "anywhere". Heather became argumentative with me and was upset that I was mad my $800 dog door does not function as advertised. I had to leave work early each day this week to go and let my dogs out, instead of using the fancy new $800 WIFI dog door I purchased to avoid this. She offered no apology and instead says, “Its best you return the door since you are not happy with it, I'll email a return label." Click, hangs up on me, not giving me any chance to respond. I called back and got another CSR, explained my situation and this person was also unhelpful, rude and lacking empathy, they suggested I return the door as well. I asked to speak with their supervisor and was routed back to H******, who again, argued with me and defended their position on why they ended our phone call. I finally accepted the prepaid return label because who wouldn't at that point?? Additionally, I purchased 2 MS5 collars with the door because we have 3 dogs. I was supposed to get 3 MS5 collars and instead got 2 MS5 and one MS4. I am still waiting on a response from the owner, who H****** stated their name is N***.

    I honestly have no idea how this company is in business still. Such an unethical company with a terrible product.. We purchased a door from them in March 2022 - within a few weeks we had to have the door replaced by them. Then the replacement broke. By that time we were out of our return window and were told we had no options other than to try to have the door replaced again. Then in Aug of 2022 we were right back to having issues with the door. They shipped out another door because they said that refunds were not an option. Now in April of 2023 (conveniently the week the warranty expires) the door completely stops working. The inside sensor completely stopped working, the app won't connect and after trying to reset the door we cannot get it to connect to wifi again. The app has a 1.8 star rating on Google with many of the same complaints, it has a 2.6 star rating on chewy, 2.1 star rating on Amazon.

    Regardless of the few low-star reviews, each time I have had an issue (only twice in 3 years with two large dogs and cold winters) the team has been able to resolve the issue completely and at little to no cost. I would recommend reaching out to them on FB, or giving them a call and talking to them if you have an issue. I use the Extra Large Armor Flex patio slider had it has given us much relief from having to open any doors, it does provide sufficient insulation/padding from the weather however you will need to pick some up and make it perfect. Don't cheap, outside elements are no joke.
    Shout out to the CSR team at FB, and Bryan for taking the time to listen, and then help.
    This is an honest review and I recommend it.

    I would give zero stars if that was an option.
    They lie, and say one of our friendly customer service agents will return your call. No one has ever return my call and I have called daily leaving messages.
    Liz, Rodriguez, previously Liz Colurzo list herself as the manager over customer Service and business relations manager. She is always rude over the phone. She never says goodbye even when you say thank you she just hangs up. My Bluetooth does not connect for Wifi on my $600 door. This is a new door. It worked for almost an year and was fantastic. To be clear the door was fantastic but the customer service was garbage or nonexistent. When I spoke today to Liz, the one time I was able to get a human in weeks she said I’ll email you the instructions and I told her I had already done that numerous times and she hung up. Liz is most unprofessional and going to ruin this business. Originally I was satisfied and told friends, family colleagues and post it on social media. This door supposed to make our lives easier instead, it makes it a nightmare. When you have a pet that has depended upon this you would think they could simply do their job.
    The business needs new management. I am simply a customer who spent upwards of $750 on this device for the battery backup, the collars, and multiple of their batteries. I am a degreed computer, science, major, and have high speed Internet. This is a new device. The failure sits on the shoulders of this company, High-tech pet and the app Power Pet. Moreover, it seems the root of the problem is Liz who is the gatekeeper over the customer service phones.
    Very frustrated and dissatisfied.
