    I am writing to bring to your attention a critical safety issue with our Mini Cooper convertible, which we purchased new in 2011. Recently, the seat sensor light displayed a concerning message regarding a restraint system malfunction. The diagnosis revealed faults in the passenger mat sensor, seat belt sensor, and airbag sensor. Despite the car being 12 years old, I discovered that there was a Limited Warranty Extension to 10 years/120,000 miles for these specific items. However, I was informed by Mini of Westchester that we missed the extension period, and the estimated repair cost exceeds $2,000.00. I reached out to the Mini Cooper Corporate Office, expressing the severity of this safety issue. Customer Relations acknowledged that no communication had been sent regarding the problem, however, their repeated answer has been a flat "no," without any attempt to explore alternative solutions or to acknowledge the gravity of the situation. They made no further effort beyond what I had already done and refused to escalate the issue further. This lack of communication places customers in a vulnerable position regarding faulty parts related to major safety components. Had we received prior notice, we could have addressed the issue within the Limited Warranty Extension period. I strongly urge BMW who owns Mini Cooper to cover all costs associated with repairing this potentially dangerous safety concern. What would happen in the event either myself or one of my three boys was in an accident? Their lack of consideration for our long-standing loyalty as customers and, more importantly, for the safety of our children who drive this car, especially considering our financial constraints has been disappointing. Prompt attention to this matter is crucial, considering the potential risks involved. I appreciate your understanding and assistance in resolving this issue promptly. Thank you. Sent from my iPhone
