MY MOTORHOME WAS IMPOUNDED ON 09-17-2024 I WENT TO THE CITY OF ********** PARKING ADJUDICATION DIVISION AND HAD A URGENT IMPOUND HEARING ON DATE OF 09-23-2024 AT THE HEARING THE FINDING OF FACTS LEAD TO THE CONCLUSION OF THE EXAMINER NOT FINDING REASONABLE GROUNDS FOR THE IMPOUND. IF I DID NOT WIN THE HEARING A TOTAL OF ******** WAS WHAT WAS ACCUMULATED FOR THE STORAGE FEES AND *** YARD CHARGES ETC. WHEN I WENT TO PICK UP MY MOTORHOME ON 09-25-2024 THE *** YARD HAD CRUSHED MY VEHICLE THAT SAME DAY KNOWING I HAD WON THE HEARING AND ALL CHARGES WERE NOT VALID. I FEEL THIS WAS A ACT OF RETALIATION I WILL BE PERSUING LEGAL ACTION IF KEYSTONE DOES NOT MEND TO THE SITUATION AND COVER THERE UNLAWFULL ACTS. I WILL GIVE THEM ONE OPPERTUNITY TO DO THE RIGHT THING AND IF THAT DOES NOT HAPPEN I WILL SUE FOR ALL LOSSES.DID I MENTION THAT ALL OF MY FAMILYS BELONGINGS INCLUDING MY BELONGINGS WERE INSIDE THE MOTORHOME AS IT WAS MY DWELLING QUARTERS. From all the information I gathered from the collection company ********************* the police impounded this vehicle on 11/19/2023 with keystones truck and placed in their yard, from a person by the name of *********************(**************************************************) I called Keystoen multiple times and they did not really want to provide information stating they had already sent to the collection agency, that this was not their problem anymore, then I got a hold of someone and I told them this was not my vehicle, had never been the registered owner to take my name off they said they got their info from *** so I had sent them the registration history for this vehicle where my name is nowhere on there and they have done nothing about it, and the collection agency wont do anything either because this was the info they got from the ***Initial Complaint

They towed a vehicle that was no longer my responsibility as the release of liability has been filed with the dmv. They never made contact with me to settle any sort of debt but sent a bill in my name to collections which is now effecting my credit.Initial Complaint

I want a refund and disciplinary actions taken ******** (desk clerk) and the mechanic working on the night of 1/2/2023 at 5 pm. First of all, my car was hit and run on and was then impounded. I had no idea where my car was because no body called me. I called 311 and discovered it was at keystone towing. On the phone, the person I talked to said it would be $327 to get it out. When I got there, a bit agitated because I was only told my car was towed for "obstructing traffic" even though I had known I had parked correctly. I had just purchased the car, and had the title on hand, but had only purchased the car 4 days ago and have not done the dmv transfer yet. (I was in the legal window) ********, got agitated and became extremely not helpful and bitter. I asked how to get the car out and she insisted I would need to bring the old owner in in person another day. (She obviously wanted more money and the charge me more) after pressing her and asking her about if the original owner sends a letter with their ID, only then did she admit that that way also worked. When I went to pay, she told me the price was $278. When I asked her why the increase she told me because my car had been there for 3 days. I said that was impossible and I was right, the car came in on the first and I got it on the 2nd. But because the call for the car "came in"at 11:57 she charged me extra. After paying the money, I was shown to a completely totaled car. When I asked what the h*** happened and how I was supposed to drive it off the mechanic laughed and said "Oh yeah, it's not driveable. I want ALL of my $380 back (at the very least) and disciplinary action taken again ******** mainly. Thank you and please be better.Business Response

Hello,
I would like to start of by saying when **************************** Arrived at our facility he came in belligerent and demanding he see the vehicle and proof of everything. ****************** was given the correct amount on how much it would be to take out his vehicle. Mr. ******** vehicle was impounded by LAPD for impound section ***** (b) which means obstructing traffic. Notices of the vehicle being impounded is sent out after a certain time that the vehicle is there, it is not our job to notify the vehicle owner right when the vehicle gets picked up. It is policy that only the registered owner can pick up their vehicle and ****************** did not have the correct documentation to do so. ***************** also states that he was unaware that his vehicle was in the condition it was in and after reviewing recordings and videos of when he was in our lobby he clearly stated that he recorded our tow truck impounding his vehicle. i have attached all paperwork including impound form written by LAPD to have vehicle impounded.Business Response

Today on 11/21/22, at 12:56pm, Keystone Towing tried to tow my car illegally from a ****** shopping plaza that had defective and missing No Parking and Towing signage. Here are some reasons why it was illegal: 1) My car was there less than an hour. 2) My car was not blocking an exit or fire lane. 3) The tow company did not obtain permission to tow the vehicle from the property owner or management company. There is missing Towing Signage on the main entrance to the shopping center, and the one sign that they did have at another entrance that is not the main entrance, you can't even read. 4) I called ****** and ******* and they said they would never ever authorize a tow. I have confirmed that ****** is the managing agent of the entire property. ***** the tow man said that ******* placed the call for a tow but I spoke to the manager and they stated that they did not authorize it, which means ***** blatantly lied to me. 5) The area I was parked in was not painted red, nor did it have any "no parking" signs, nor was it blocking a fire hydrant. 6) Keystone towing proceeded to charge me full price to stop the car from being lifted off the ground, at $149, then after I told him I know the law, and only after stating that, ***** changed my fee to half, or $72.75. 7) They would not release my car unless I provided a copy of my driver's license which is also illegal. All of the above are violating AB **** and taking advantage of shoppers. I would like my $72.75 refunded in full and I would like their staff to be properly trained on the law.Business Response

************************ was not parked in a designated parking spot,she was parked behind the staples business which is private property and is NOT parking. when a vehicle is not in any parking spots it does not need to be on the property for one hour. on the side of the building and behind the building the business has two loading docks which big rig trucks park to unload and if vehicles are in the way it makes it difficult for the trucks to maneuver around them to park. we did have permission from the managing company to have the vehicle removed.there is proper signage around the building and also at the entrance to the staples business. ****** is NOT the managing agent to the entire property, staples and the dollar store have their own management company. Our driver ***** did not try and charge ************************ full price to drop her vehicle, he charged her the correct amount which was half of the tow fee because he was still on the property. the only reason we asked for ***************** ID was because she was paying by credit card so we have to verify that the card is hers. i have attached some photos of where her vehicle was parked and also her ID and CC she used.
