United Choice verses *******************
I was provided a bid to move my 1-bedroom apartment from ********** to **** for a cost of $3302.25. I was never informed I had to have everything in boxes including my umbrella stand, plastic buckets and trash bags with blankets in them.
When the movers came in, they brought tall boxes that they said were free to pack the items listed above. I was unaware these boxes would increase my cost tremendously. I told them I didnt need the boxes as everything was in moving condition. They insisted. Once they have loaded the truck they loaded these boxes inside single stacked increasing the square footage. Its a scam.
Thats when they told me the price had increased $7000 due to the square footage. $4000 increase to moving the items to my new home and $3000 to unload the truck in ***** I told them they were crazy and this wasnt fair. They said they could unload the truck. I was afraid they would break my things unloading it and leave my apartment unlivable. They were also aware I was on a time crunch. They took advantage of the situation and pressured me into paying more money double what I was originally quoted.*see Attached document(s)

****** Choice Movers, LLC (******* based) was hired by me for my cross country move. They contracted USA Logistics (********** based) to pack and move from ******* to ********. My initial quote for full-pack and move was $8450. Ultimately I paid $40,000 to these companies. I was blatantly extorted. They packed our house and loaded half of it onto a truck, then demanded a check for $20,000 immediately/on the spot. Their rationale was that we had more items/volume than they anticipated. I was home with my 6 month old infant. They coerced me into signing the contract. I was intimated by 3 men in my home, demanding money to finish the job. I spoke to their boss, ************* and multiple members of the United Choice team in *******. They were clearly in business together and this was part of their scheme. Our items were driven to **********, transferred to a warehouse, then loaded into a semi-truck and driven to **. Upon receipt a few weeks later, much of our furniture/artwork/etc was destroyed. These are dishonest companies that manipulate and intimidate their customers for profit.Initial Complaint

Received a quote from company USA logistics *** in February 2022 on a move from ******** ** to ********** **. To move my belongs, sent them photos of my at time storage unit which was a 5X7 unit, smaller they have. After following their procedures to receive an estimate I was quoted around ****. Hired them! Figured even if the quote/ estimate was higher it couldnt be by more than $1000 and thats pushing it. So I hired the company. I was relocating for custody arrangements and for work. I was pressed on getting to ***** by a certain time and when they arrived to load truck they didnt have enough room. Had to stay the night in town and come back early morning the next day. So the next day at 5 am I head over to my storage unit. The men arrive start loading their truck with my belongings in storage, never saying anything about the estimate or it being more. Once truck is loaded and ready to go, main guy call me over and hands me his phone. I take the phone and I get his boss on the other end of the call telling me my new amount to pay will be $7900, I couldnt believe what I was hearing. Mind you truck is loaded and I should of mentioned ** alone, a woman alone doing this entire transaction. The guy had even asked me at one point if I was moving out to ***** with my husband, when I responded that I was not and moving out alone with my son he looked at me like he was surprised. I told the supervisor on the phone how could that go up so much. He tried to intimidate me and say well my men can unload the truck too if you prefer. I was panicking because I knew so much weighed on me getting on the road to get there by the date I had communicated to my employer, so I didnt know what to do and I paid it. I was completely taken off guard and felt pressured into feeling like I didnt have another option. I read reviews on my own 3 day drive to ***** and found horrible reviews about this being done to them. It was the exact same story, getting one estimate and being thousands of dollars more. It was multiple of the same/similar story. ***** calling them scam artists. It has taken me so long to file this complaint because I was on a mental leave from work and was not in a good state of mind. I was also pregnant with my now 5 month old son and dealing with a move, being alone in ***** with no family support and single mother of 2. It has been a very difficult journey the last year and half since moving to *****. I have been depressed and just trying to do everyday life. I am doing better, and just couldnt sit back and do nothing about what this business did to myself and many others based on their reviews. It seeks like they have done this to multiple different people/families and like they are scammers and I dont want them to get away with doing this kind of business, its not fair to get bullied into getting their services and rob me by forcing me to pay them over $5000 more then what I was originally quoted. Thats outrageous! Help me get justice for myself and the many others that have been scammed and tricked into paying them. USA Logistics are scammers!Initial Complaint

Damage to a motorcycle and other goods. Through Insurance only paying under $1000 that will not come anywhere close to paying for loss. Claim was filed with their ins company on 4/28/23, agreed to the settlement and they received signed form back on 7/31/23. *********************** emailed USA Logistics on 8/8/23 to pay claim. I called 8/21/23 they will let me know when they will pay but have no time frame. Called back on 9/5/23 still same response that they will call when they will pay. They said they have 90 days. Let them know this claim was filed on 4/28/23. Do not think they will pay. They overcharged me for move and threatened that they would keep and sell my stuff if I did not pay on the day they called when I had 10 days to pay the next amount. Have had nothing but trouble. Horrible company. Just want to be done with them but if I do not get payment soon I will go to small claims court.Initial Complaint

Bid from broker was $4000 for move from ** to MT. Truck arrives. I had prepaid $3200They load my things in four hours. He asks for an additional $17000 of which I paid half. Truck was loaded. Temps were 110 degrees. I was to close on the sale a week later. I was shocked but didnt know what to do. My things were reloaded into a smaller truck in ***********. Held me hostage after demanding an extra $13,300.00 to continue the move of our home from *******, ** to ******** ********. After many interviews and virtual walks thru my former home, The hiring company ****************** from Jupiter Fla. We had our quote of **** cu.ft. of house hold. Although high but manageable and were more than ready to move. Crew shows up and the ******* started with his complaints that the load was too large.Had me pay an additional $13,300.00 or the move would not take place. The new owners of my home were due to move in in 3 days. I contested the size and reminded the job boss of the quote and he simply blamed the main company Navistar.Had to pay. When the load came to my house. much of the furniture was either broken or severely damaged albeit Antiques or not. Had to repair what I could and sell off what was beyond what we had a quality.Mant calls and eamils went out to USA LOGISTICS. Zero emails were answered and only one call returned. ZERO resolve or results. Still out the money.Called Navistar and got zero help. Call ** Attorney Gen in ********** and got nothing.Call ***** and again nothing. movers picked up my good at the end of July. They began phone harassment and I stupidly wired them funds. Twice. I paid thousands over the binding contract. After receiving my funds, they disappeared. I filed a police report after three weeks. Four days later, they called. Goods were delivered after guaranteed delivery date. Boxes were demolished, furniture damaged or broken. They did not return phone calls or e-mails after this. The contract we signed outlined specific services that we did not receive. Valuable sentiments were damaged and items were boxed/ packed into the truck without our permission. There was a language barrier so we were not able to clearly communicate with the movers and as a result had to follow them around and micromanage what they were doing. The driver tried to breach contract by insisting that he drop off our items days before our contract specified. After many phone calls and a complaint on my side (referencing our contract) they finally agreed to deliver on the date that we originally agreed on. We were left with about a third of our items and informed that the truck would not fit into our complex. We were also told that we would be charged "per every 7 steps" if stairs were involved after the first flight. When I verified this with "customer service" I was told that we will go off of the contract I signed... will we though? I've already had your driver try to strong arm me into another arrangement OFF OF CONTRACT and only agreed to the original date after I made a huge fuss. This company has misrepresented themselves and the services they provide. I have tried to appeal for support in how to remedy this. I was basically told that I should've known better and that things like are bound to happen during a move. No. I've done this move before. What we have here is a company with zero customer service, a multitude of hidden fees and now me and my family are EXTREMELY stressed and have over spent by $5000. And that's before our things are delivered! I'm already dreading the drop off. Who knows how much more they will try to charge while holding our items hostage.
