On 9/27/24 we checked into the hotel. At approx. 8pm I undressed and got into the bed. After about 5 minutes I arose and went into the bathroom and found a tick attached to my back, I dislodged it into the sink and called the desk. After some time someone came up said he was the bartender but had been sent up to check out. I showed him the tick and explained what had happened. He arranged to change the room. We had noticed the first room lacked what we would consider sufficient lighting. The room we were moved to had more light fixtures (as the rooms were identical it was obvious that some lights were missing on the 1st room), and the charging port worked unlike the 1st room. When we mentioned this to the desk person he said " Oh. So you got an upgrade". Apparently working fixtures and lights are deemed upgrades. However the door to the bathroom in the second room did not close and the lock button had been removed. When I got into the shower the next morning I noticed that my feet left black prints in the tub floor. The only place I had walked barefoot was in the room but my feet were filthy which meant the carpet was filthy. All in all the rooms were poorly maintained, dirty and had at least one parasite most like due to pet friendliness, Based on our experience, when we got home we took steps to avoid bringing other parasite into our home in and on our clothes by washing everything on Sanitize cycle and showering as soon as we entered the home.
