On September 21st, 2022 the Bureau of Automotive Repair filed a decision against Michael P. Rogers dba American Auto Smog revoking the Smog Check Station License No. TC 299324. The Bureau of Automotive Repair reviewed the smog inspections data performed by American Auto Smog and found that the business performed smog inspections on several vehicles using a method known as "clean plugging," which resulted in the issuance of fraudulent smog certificates.
