    Additional Info:
On April 1, 2021, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) issued a Warning Letter to NeilMed Pharmaceuticals, Inc.  The FTC reviewed the company’s website located at https://www.neilmed.com, as well as social media post located at https://www.facebook.com/sinusrinse/ and https://www.instagram.com/neilmed/and determined that NeilMed Pharmaceuticals is  unlawfully advertising that their nasal irrigation products treat or prevent Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

The warning letter advised that it is unlawful under the FTC Act, 15 U.S.C. § 41 et seq., to advertise that a product can prevent, treat, or cure human disease unless you possess competent and reliable scientific evidence substantiating that the claims are true at the time they are made. For COVID-19, no such study is currently known to exist for the products identified above. Thus, any coronavirus-related prevention or treatment claims regarding such products are not supported by competent and reliable scientific evidence.

NeilMed Pharmaceuticals must  immediately cease making all such claims. The FTC also advised the company to review all other claims for their products and immediately cease making claims that are not supported by competent and reliable scientific evidence.

On 2/27/24, I e-mailed NeilMed and explained that I have been using their Sinus Rinse Kit for many years to help with my allergies. (I purchase a new kit approximately twice a year; it comes with saline packets and a sinus rinse bottle.) I stated that a few weeks prior, I had purchased a replacement kit and started using the bottle the week of 2/28/24. There was a defect with the bottle because it took a lot of effort to squeeze the saline water into my sinus area during use. (I could hear air seeping out.) Since I had already discarded the box, I was unable to make an exchange at the retail store from which I bought the kit. Consequently, I asked for a free replacement bottle and offered to return the defective one to them for QC purposes.Within a few hours, someone from NeilMed replied and advised they would be sending a replacement. They asked for some information, such as date of purchase, what store I bought it from, my address, etc. I responded with the information the following evening.I have not heard from NeilMed since the end of February despite e-mailing 2 follow-up inquiries. One was via e-mail on 3/10/24 and the other was on 3/17/24 through their Contact ** website.Anything the BBB of ************** can do to facilitate a resolution is appreciated.

Consumers and Businesses distributing Neil Med's products BEWARE! Neil Med manufactures a Nasal Saline Mist sold under the Walgreens brand name. After using this product for 5 days, the sinus above my cheek filled with fluid, I also had a headache for several days. I discontinued using the product, and after 4 days the swelling subsided as did the headache. In speaking with Neil Med Owner, he refused to take responsibility claiming his product could not have caused the swelling. Insisted either allergies or infection would have caused it and if the swelling went down without antibiotics, then it was due to allergies. He then said "And that is that". Really? I've had allergies for 54 years, have used many different sinus sprays and have never experienced anything like this swelling. Nor has it happened since I discontinued use of Neil Med's Nasal Saline Mist. I stated I find it astonishing that given the fact a similar nasal spray had been recalled, that Neil Med is not the least bit interested in testing the product or examining the canister. Suddenly, the owner stated his Q.C. Dept wants to see the product and would be issuing a pickup. The pickup never arrived (no surprise) and after 2 weeks, a Walgreens Representative advised Neil Med is not interested in accepting or proceeding with an investigation. One would think after receiving a warning from the FTC for falsely claiming Neil Med's products treat and prevent covid, that this individual wouldn't continue this unscrupulous behavior. The owner, however, continues to be devoid of integrity, morals, common decency, and is an blatant liar.
