    James,

We're happy to report your order is nearly ready to ship and should be with you over the coming few weeks. As you might have seen in our recent customer update, we've just consolidated our three locations into one location in Fargo, North Dakota- this will help us speed up our fulfillment and shipping times compared to our historically slower pace from the past. Apologies for the delay- it appears your customer inquiries had been going to the older legacy portal as well leading to a lapse in communications. We now have your support case in our new system and will be able to track it and reply there as well. Thanks again for your order and we look forward to having it in your hands soon.

    Best,
    William S. Cromarty
    President & CEO, Heath Company

After assembling my clock, a Heathkit GC-****, I discovered that mine was not keeping accurate time. The seller claims on his website that ****% of clocks do not have a problem with keeping correct time. My experience makes me doubtful of this claim.I briefly applied my own timing signal to the "timing input pin" (pin ** of the ***** This signal was a 50Hz square wave with low=0V and high=3.3V and the seconds were advancing as expected. I removed the 50Hz 3.3V timing signal and with the clock in its original state the clock continued to display time but over the course of 3 weeks it lost 17 seconds. The seller's website claims ****% of these clocks tell accurate time. While trying to understand if my clock had assembly errors, I discovered that by design, pin ** of the *** receives regular electrical overstress: the voltage on *** pin ** routinely reaches negative 0.6V (-0.6V) which is beyond the *** manufacturers Absolute Maximum Limit of negative 0.5V (-0.5V). Eventually, the MAX7219 failed and began to draw 300mA and reached a case temperature of 95 degrees Celsius. See picture attached. I unplugged the product. This product is designed to be on all the time and if undiscovered a failure like the one that occurred on mine could be hazardous and could eventually lead to a fire. While inspecting the MAX7219 chip, I discovered that the company name on the part read "MAXIMI". I emailed Maxim Integrated, the manufacturer of the MAX7219, and their response on 22 November 2022 confirmed that the MAX7219 in my kit is a counterfeit. A copy of my email communication with Maxim Integrated is attached. In light of the flaws described above, including the fact that this kit uses a counterfeit MAX7219 part, I do not believe the seller's claim that this product is a "Most Reliable Clock". I believe the flaws described above render this clock defective, unreliable and potentially hazardous. I am requesting a refund.

As of today, I have heard no response from Heath Company about my request for a refund, nor have I heard any response regarding the product deficiencies and hazards that I have noted.
