I havent used my Chegg account in over 5 years and somehow they charged my debit card for $17 yesterday and dont have any record of doing so. The customer service is less than helpful and said they couldnt help because theres no record of it. How am I getting charged for an account thats not active and has no record of charging me? Went online to see Im not the only one going through this and it is a huge problem of them illegally reactivating accounts and stealing money.

Chegg provides an option to cancel a membership but does not allow users to remove their stored payment methods online. Instead, they require customers to call to request removal. After attempting to do so via both chat support and a voice call, I was informed that my subscription would have to be immediately terminated in order to proceed with removing my payment information. I agreed to this under the condition that my credit/debit card details were deleted from their system.Despite this agreement, Chegg first claimed that my payments were made through a third-party platform and that they could not remove my information. After clarifying that I had paid directly, a representative then changed their reasoning, stating that my payment was processed through their "New Billing Platform," which supposedly prevents them from deleting stored ******** a result, my subscription was canceled immediately, denying me access to the remaining service I had already paid for, yet Chegg continues to retain my sensitive payment information without consent. Given Cheggs history of data breaches, their refusal to remove users financial details is both unacceptable and a potential security risk.I am not seeking a refund, nor do I wish to reinstate my membership. I am simply requesting that Chegg allow users to remove their stored credit/debit card details when business has concluded between both parties. This is a fundamental consumer right, and their refusal to comply raises serious privacy and data security concerns.

This company claims to offer help with homework. Instead, it provides AI-generated responses that are often incorrect, violating many university integrity codes of conduct. The company's paid platform is of poor quality and speed due to the large amounts of data consumed by targeted video ads. They do not provide an option to turn these ads off. This company is predatory and takes advantage of students by taking their money and providing inaccurate information and ads.

It doesn't even deserve one star. I ordered a new college textbook( paperback) and it was delivered Thursday by **** Mind you, this box was just sat on my porch with no knocking on the door. My state was dealing with substantial rainfall from *****. As soon as the box was brought into the house, I noticed it was soaked. I opened the box up and after taking out samples of coffee, monster energy drink, etc I saw my book wrapped in plastic. I then saw areas of my book with water damage. I cut the plastic off the textbook and saw it was worse than I thought. I tried to dry the book out overnight, but this morning noticed smeared ink, wrinkled pages, etc. I have corresponded by email to Chegg all day today. ****** was her name and she started out nicely. I was even offered another new book to be sent at no charge to me. That quickly changed. The company went from sending me a new book to oops we're out of stock. They went from I can keep the damaged book to, hey are you going to send the book back? You'll have to do that to get a refund. I explained to them that I had two options. 1) used a damaged book because my class starts this week. 2) send the book back for a refund and risk not finding a new one in time for my class to start. I was then sent a coupon for 25% off my next rental/ purchase from Chegg. I then asked ******, if that's even her real name, why they couldn't give me 25% of this book as a way to rectify the situation. I was told that wasn't policy. I told her that the customer was supposed to be right, but ******************** hasn't treated me that way. Please do not rent or purchase Anything from this company. They are snakes and they take advantage of people trying to go to college. This company should be shut down!

This company is fraudulent. I canceled this account two months ago, and they keep trying to charge my debit card multiple times a month. I texted the company, who assured me my subscription was canceled, and they even said they were issuing a refund of $21.72 within five business days. That was on July 19th. They never sent it. Since then, they have consistently tried to charge my debit card ten times. I have proof of text messages between myself and the company that they have already confirmed that I cancelled and they are still charging. I want this company flagged for deceptive practices.

Chegg is charging my account months after canceling subscription. I was issued a new **** to stop the charges, but they are now charging the new account! I've called three months in a row to try to stop the subscription, they say they can't even find my account, but they keep charging monthly!!!

Zero stars. I've never even heard of this company but they charged my account twice this morning. I can't get ahold of anyone in the company to ask what the deal is. Bank is doing a dispute and now I need to get new cards.
