On May 30, 2023 , I received this Email from SLFD PROCESSING.. First I want to congratulate you on your approval! You have been accepted into The Student Loan Forgiveness Program. As we discussed this is a Government Funded Student Loan Forgiveness Program based on *************** size. Based on your *************** size you qualify for 6 monthly payments of $166.17 & after that you qualify for payment of $54.83 for the following 12 months. If your income stays the same your payment stays the same. Just like any other government funded program you will be required to prove your income once a year to remain in this program. As long as you make your payments on time & either prove your income or update your file annually your loans will be forgiven & discharged from your credit at the end of the 10 year term. It will not say forgiven or settled at that time, it will simply say "paid in full." As we discussed you will make those payments yourself directly to **************************** As of todays date no money has been applied to my student loan,I tried calling them , no answer, no response to calls at all. I want them to not charge my card in the future and to refund money paid so far and to terminate my account with them.Business Response

In December of 2020 I was contacted by SLFD Processing about my student loan. They stated in order for my loan to be in forgiveness I needed to make 6 payments of ****** to pay towards my debt. I did this in December 2020, January 2021, February 2021, March 2021, April 2021, and May 2021. I saved the paper I was emailed. I had not thought anything about it until April of 2023 when I was contacted by SLFD Processing, *********************** again. The numbers I have listed for them are as follows; *****************-993-1035, and ************. Once again I was asked to make 6 payments of ****** for my loan forgiveness. I called my loan, Aidvantage this week to check to see if these payments were showing up with them. They stated they were not, and I needed to report them to *************.org. I did this today and contacted my bank to stop the payments. They also suggested I contact BBB. I have read very similar reports on your site.Business Response

We spoke to the client after receiving their complaint to clear up the confusion regarding the clients payments. When speaking with the client at approximately 4:30 pm on May 26, 2023 we sent the client the document which shows the client's payment schedule and amount. After reviewing the payments schedule and explaining our services to the client, the client requested to continue the call on Tuesday May 30, 2023. We reached out to the client on Tuesday to resume the conversation however the client was not available. We have been reaching out to the client ever since but she is not responding to our message or returning our calls. We would like to resolve this issue and complaint.Initial Complaint

I was defrauded by these scam artists. Who told me they were processing my student loan forgiveness application. They gave me a $145.00 payment plan for 6 months. After which my loan would be forgiven. Lies, all lies I want my money returned and my information removed from any account created in connection with these con artistsBusiness Response

I was contacted by **** about my student loan around mid February. I was under the impression that the money I was send was supposed to go toward my loan. I sent all kinds of documents to this company and made 2 payments of 166$ ****** advised me that my loan was paid off . All I had to do was make 6 payments or 166. He did not tell me that the money was not going towards my loan. I was unemployed at the time of making the payments. Which caused me a hardship. I definitely want payments to stop. It would be nice if I could recover what I have paid to themBusiness Response

We reached out to the client to clear up the confusion regarding who we are and the service the client enrolled in. We answered all the client's questions and explained our process to help improve the client's loan situation. We resent the documents to the client just in case they needed an additional copy and made sure the client had no further questions. The client now understands our service and has decided to move forward with our service.Customer Answer

I also was taken in by ******* with SFLD, who was so nice and helpful and knew all my important information that she and, by extension, the company seemed legit. Thankfully, my bank made me aware that something was not right when they refused my initial payment of $145.83 because the company had been flagged as a scam. I would have paid that for 6 months for a total of nearly $875 in pointless payments just for enrollment into the program. I should have questioned it right there because no federal program charges you for an application/processing fee. I DEMAND THAT MY APPLICATION BE CANCELLED IMMEDIATELY AND ALL MY INFORMATION THAT THE COMPANY HAS TO BE DESTROYED IMMEDIATELY. I have contacted my LifeLock, ******, and other security accounts to be on the lookout for any suspicious activity and I have cancelled my card and will be getting a new number. Im so angry about this, but also upset with myself for having fallen for it. Im usually very good at spotting this kind of thing, but that tells you how slick this group is at suckering their marks. The other tell was how anxious they were to get me to send my paystub and sign the agreement. I was besieged with calls, texts, and emails to finish everything and make my first payment. Thank God my bank caught it before my limited funds were used for such a scam. They should all be extremely ashamed!Business Response

This business told me they would help me pay off my student debt. They offered me a deal to pay them 145$ for 6 months and my total of ****************************************** full. I then did research on this company and began to see horror stories about them. I have gotten a new bank card and changed my passwords for FSA.gov. I also signed a document without looking over it well. I have sent an email to cancel my agreement.Business Response

This is my second complaint I am filing against SLFD Processing in *********, **. I had originally filed a complaint on 11/15/2022 regarding this company. My original complaint in summary was about me receiving a call on October 12th regarding student loan forgiveness. Caller by the name of **************** gave me information about processing my student loan forgiveness. At the time I believed the company was affiliated with the ********** of ********** ******* had all my loan information which lead me to believe that they worked with the US Dept. ********** I had signed a contract to forgive $26,000 of my loan and had to pay $200 for 6 months. Then sign up for income driven repayment plan to lower monthly payments to $34 a month. I gave my bank info & made my first payment on November 7th 2022. I saw this payment was not reflected on my online loan account and then read the BBB complaints I called ******* and instead spoke to *******************************, phone number ************** and email ******* @slfdprocessing.com. After multiple conversations with *******, we agreed that I would resolve my original complaint and he promised to refund me a check for $200 and cancel my agreement. I resolved my original complaint a few days after. But on December 5th 2022, I spoke to ******* again requesting an update and he promised again that the refund check will be sent out soon. I made many calls, texts, and emails to him and no response. Today, January 13th, 2023 I called **** demanding a refund check and spoke to a *********************** and his supervisor ******************* who said they would send another refund check and provide me a tracking number, but when I asked for the tracking number they could not provide me one as checks are not processed until the end of the day. **** asked me to call back on Monday January 16th which is a holiday to obtain the tracking number. This lead me to file this second complaint on this company and hope they don't find other victims to their scam.Business Response
