My name is *********************. I am writing to you today because I am having difficulties resolving an issue with my student loan provider. Back in May of 2023, the Federal Student Aide website notified me that my student loan was going to be transferred from NelNet to EdFinancial Services. Before my student loan of $8,301.00 was transferred to EdFinancial services, I decided to pay off all my student loans with current NelNet provider on June 6th, 2023. It was only a month later that I saw that EdFinancial services had me as still owing them the original student loan amount of $8,301.00 (Account #***********. I sent them multiple emails through their website but they never got back to me. And now EdFinancial Services is starting to charge me Unpaid Interest of $71.60 on a student loan I already paid off through NelNet. All I want is for EdFinancial services to report that I do not owe any student loans and current balance is set to $0 since I already paid off my $8,301.00 student loan before transfer.Initial Complaint

Nelnet is impossible to reach, the billing system is incoherent and shows wrong information. They are terrible. See attached. Payment is due 11/10/2023 but look at the indidbidial loans showing due date of 10/10/2023. Unable to make a payment and which date is it?Initial Complaint

My and many other student loans were being "service/maintained" by Student ************* They help with processing, filing as a 3rd party person for the Loan provider. Since the Financial Student Loan Freeze as of 3/13/2020 what loans do they have to maintain, help with service with etc. When I called I was told they email me at an email I no longer have, they then said we did not know you were transferred to Mohela for PSLF (But yet they service/maintain etc.) since 3/2020 they continue to take $49 and now 54/month for "servicing/maintaining" student loans for loans that have been froze.. I have asked for Reimbursement for all or part of this as I should of also called as much as they should be sending proper paper work and honestly know they are not in good faith servicing anything during the public student loan freeze. This is not only my account but I am sure many others at 54/month. $49 From March 2020 to 12/2021 23 payments at $49 and 3 and new rate of $54 (this would be duration of PHE loan freeze as they are not servicing any loans/processing papers etc" due to the federal freeze. This is $1289. As noted I am not the only customer that is being charged monthly by ATF for Loan servicing they are not doing due to PHEInitial Complaint

Under the cares act I reached out to my Loan Servicer, FedLoan, for a refund since I paid off my loan in 09/2020. I called in 08/22 and requested a refund. I haven't received anything and it was been 90 days. I've called three times and no resolution.Business Response

On September 21st 2022 I called in to speak with ******************* with ***** to manage my account. He refused to listen to me and directed me to another department. I have needed to clarify my business relationship with ************ Student ************** and he has in the past repeatedly declined to take my concerns seriously. He is verbally aggressive and demeaning.I have attempted to offer different payment arrangements and to use certain tools to come to a proper standing and he has dismissed my suggestions.I have needed to speak with the pre-claims department to establish a payment arrangement in the past and he would not speak with me even though it is my account. There is a well defined pattern of not listening to me even though it is my account and today was just the latest iteration.I need to be able to speak with the pre-claims department if my account is not in good standing and ******************* consistently disallows that.Initial Complaint

I called Nelnet on 8/25 to request my loans be reinstated and for a full refund of payments I made since April of 2020. I repeatedly explained my intent for the call and what I wanted. The representative I spoke with did not ask me any other questions, gave no confirmation, etc., but told me they got my requested submitted and to expect 4-6 weeks. On 8/31 I received an email from Nelnet (that I was unable to even open due to it being encrypted improperly) but immediately called due to the email. The representative I spoke with this time told me that my initial request was not done correctly and didnt get submitted. I the re-requested my refund of payments and to have my loans reinstated. They told me another 4-6 weeks (since the process now had to start over).I called again on 9/14 to check on the status and they were not able to provide me ANY insight on where my request was at in the process, and said another 4-6 weeks.Seeing as how the representative I spoke with on 8/25 was careless and didnt provide me the correct information, it has delayed the whole process and I am feeling frustrated. I need my loans reinstated and refunds processed NO LATER than September 30th, 2022.My Nelnet account is E895271002.Initial Complaint

For the past two years I was led to believe that my student loans were in an ****** ***** ********* **** working towards Public Service Loan Forgiveness. Instead I made payments to Student Loan Services via *** ********** ******** for two years without any actual steps taken towards my student loans. I have paid just under $2000 in two years. When I contacted my lender they said none of these documents were filed on behalf of my student loans. I have additional emails as well if needed and can prove all payments through my bank records.Business Response

Hello ****,
We have been servicing you since 2020 and have submitted all and any necessary documentation for the PSLF program. We requested updated information from you as this program needs to be renewed every year and have not received that updated information from you on file. Please be aware that the ***** *** had also placed loan payments on forbearance with your lender ******. If you would like to to process anything further we are still able to assist you and have placed your $39 monthly payments on hold until approval. Please email us at *************************************
Best,
Processing Team

I have not received any additional requests, updates, or information from *** or ******** **** ********. ****** reported my loans are still in full with them, no other documents had been filed. I also was under the impression that my $39 monthly payments were for my income based repayment plan, not to pay this company a monthly processing fee. As stated the ***** *** put my loans into forbearance so I believed the almost $2000 I paid over the last two years would have come off of my principal.
