I booked a motel room on Booking.com, to stay at The ************************ on April 10th 2024. The motel did not advertise that there was a $50 cash deposit on Booking.coms website. I paid $57.14 total. When I got to the motel, the cashier was telling me that there was a $50 cash deposit. I told her I didnt have cash and only had my credit card. She told me I could use my credit card, but it would take 5-6 business days for a refund. I said Im fine with that. She then tells me to go use the on-site atm. I asked if its fee free. She said yes. Upon using the atm, I was presented with a $3 service fee and could not pull out the $50. I went back to the window and told her the issue and how Ill just use my credit card. She told me that me that she was new there. I said I'm new here too. She called the owner who told me to call Booking.com because Booking.com needs to call the motel. I said why do they need to call you, you guys already know about the issue and should just give me my money back. I stayed on the property, called Booking.com and was told that the motel violated their terms of service, by not disclosing that they had a $50 cash only deposit policy. Now this motel is telling Booking.com that I never showed up, and that I canceled, and how they arent going to give me back the $57.14 that I paid because the cost of the room, is the cost of the cancellation fee. Ive been back and fourth with both the motel and Booking.com and neither is giving me back my money, despite the fact that this hotel falsely advertised on Booking.com. As per the uploaded images, there is nothing stating there is a $50 cash deposit. And they would not let me use my card.
