      I signed a lease for a 7 x 10 storage unit in September of 2021. When I signed up for the storage unit, I was given an introductory rate of half off the first three months. I knew that my subsequent months would be charged at the full rate of about $100 per month. Unfortunately, over the past two years, rent increases on the storage unit have occurred a few times and I am now being charged $195 (plus $8 insurance) a month. This would be okay if this was what they had to charge everybody (not receiving a promotional benefit), however, the price listed online for a 7 x 10 storage unit is currently $80 with an introductory rate for the first three months of $40. When I called the company, they said that since I signed that rent increases could happen at any time, I am stuck paying the $195 price. To me, this is a deceitful practice in which they increase peoples rates who are already there because they know the difficulty and cost of moving storage units to a new place. I am simply seeking the rate which theyve posted online of $80. I would also like a retroactive refund for the difference that Ive paid every month over $80 which is their non-discounted rate posted online. By my calculations, this would result in a refund of $2164.
