I went to the Ahwatukee (*******), ******* Dignity Health *********** facility on 13 March 2022 for a back/hip issue. It turned out to be a nerve issue that my Chiropractor and ************ Doctor with another ******** Health Plan is providing most of the care for. I was given crutches as my mobility was impaired and it became very difficult for me to walk. Yesterday, on 20 March 2022 I discovered the the crutches I was provided had a wing nut that came off from the lower cylindrical handle of the metal/aluminum crutches I was provided. I did have some s**** thread that I attempted to repair them with unsuccessfully. However, as I was about to ask my next door neighbor for assistance, I realized that Dignity really should be responsible for repairing or replacing my crutches. I went back to the same Ahwatukee location, provided my ID, and they accessed my records. The first thing out of the receptionist's mouth however, was "Why don't you go to a hardware store and get the bolts". A nurse came out and claimed they didn't have any crutches to replace mine nor were they going to provide assistance. The nurse said the same thing as the receptionist, go to a hardware store. I shared this issue with my chiropractor. It seemed ridiculous for me to waste my time on hold on an 800 number to their vendor for the crutches. Instead I ended up spending $6 at a local hardware store to have them fix my crutches. As there is now a Banner Health *********** on the opposite side of the street, I will go to them next time if I need any urgent care again.
