We bought an Uplift desk and were recommended to use Taskrabbit from that site. The assembly guy never showed and ghosted us on texts and phone calls. He had the highest ratings and volume on his site. We wish we had looked at BBB prior to doing so. We were deluded by the Uplift desk site who recommended an F rated business. Everyone is absolutely right-there is no place to post a review or contact a human being to complain. Wish could give 0 star rating.Review from Elizabeth F

The second time I used "TaskRabbit" a hidden fee called "Trust & Support Fee" in the amount of $22.27 was added to my invoice. A service representative located in "Asia" told me I had been made aware of this second service fee when I received the estimate for booking a home cleaning. This is untrue. Had I been made aware that service fees for booking one of TaskRabbit's employees at $36.18 an hour totaled $46.99 I would not have proceeded with my booking. A further review of my email correspondence with Taskrabbit verified that no such notice of the the so-called trust and support fee had been given. The agent however refused to approve my request for a refund of the fee. In light of my over-billing, I would like to warn Canadian consumers that hidden fees are part and parcel of the TaskRabbit services.Review from Nandy M

I sent TaskRabibit several VIDEOs of me moving my item and the communication that the mover broke the odometer of my spin bike. I was OVERCHARGED twice by taskrabbbit, when disputed the amount Citibank. CITIBANK CLOSED AND BLOKED MY ACCOUNT. This caused an insane amount of stress. As I stated ******** has now closed and banned me from banking with them in the future over this dispute.***** seems nice but overall, I am very unsatisfied and had to do a lot of the heavy lifting (technically half of the work). He broke part of my spin bike, and intentionally moved slow to add to the price.Once we got to my storage unit, he was not listening to how I needed things to be packed in the unit. He packed things in a real sloppy way. He specifically asked me to mark fragile boxes but still ended up stacking things on top of the fragile items smh.The very next day I went back to the storage unit (exhausted) and had to rearrange everything to make sure the fragile items didnt get broken.He ended up breaking my exercise bike and it really irritates me. I just replace a brake pad on it from wear and now the mechanical reading, ***** broke. (he broke and said he would replace to take his number). He called several times, but I did not answer because I needed to document things going forward.He begged me to not leave a negative review and I didnt, but I honestly will be contacting the better business bureau of this. It is insane to charge my card $469.00 and then my bank ended and restricting my account. This caused MAJOR issues, since I have to find another bank and am fighting to get the balance.Please give me a refund, this is highly inconvenient to me and has added a stress to my life.Thank you for your time. This service does handy man work,. One of their TASKERS was aware I did not have the tools to assemble 4 bars stools. The stools were assembled but 2 came loose, I did not leave out anything, I told him before he came over the screws I had were stripped. I did not leave anything out, He did not have a tool kit, came late stayed for 45 minutes pretending to tighten the chairs and showing me Amazon screws kits, charged me for two hours and all these fees even something called a trust fee. He actually scammed me, this was his intention the system is slick and they are affiliated with IKEA or IKEA own the company. They are scammers my initial fee was much less that the final fee. The fee was pending in my bank for $64 and some change but end up being $147 and some changes, then he had the nerve to say I can rehire him after I get the screws. Total hidden costs and no transparency of the final bills.Advertises wrong prices while booking and then you pay 30% extra on what you see while booking.While booking it showed 75$ and I finally paid 113$Review from Nana A

I'm extremely disappointed with the service I received from TaskRabbit. The two individuals sent to help me damaged my TV, dresser, and coffee table, to the point where they are unusable. Additionally, they broke a pipe in my new building which resulted in water damage to my couch and it became all muddy with black paint. I've been left with a bill for the repair of the pipe, and TaskRabbit has not taken any responsibility for the damaged items. I'm shocked that the company doesn't have insurance to cover these types of issues. As a result, It will cost me over $2500 for repairs and replacements. I will never use TaskRabbit again and would advise others to avoid their services.Review from Pree K

I had a highly unsatisfactory experience with TaskR. I strongly advise against utilizing their services altogether. They dispatched an extremely incompetent individual to my residence to install a ** mount on the wall. Not only did this individual damage my wall in the process, but he also failed to secure the ** into the stud. Consequently, the ** eventually fell, causing additional harm to my ** stand. Frustrated by this shoddy workmanship, I had to engage a reputable company to rectify the situation and correctly complete the task. Even the technician from the alternate company described the initial installation as extremely subpar. Throughout the entire process, the TaskRabbit worker seemed to be in a hurry due to having multiple assignments lined up in close succession. As a result, he displayed a blatant disregard for the task at hand, solely focused on ******* through it. It is of utmost importance to mount a ** on a stud for proper support, as screws fastened at an angle can lead to a hazardous situation. Furthermore, the uneven placement of the ** stand further attests to the careless approach taken by the TaskRabbit worker. I strongly urge caution in dealing with this particular company. Regarding their supposed customer satisfaction guarantee, they fail to honor it, concocting justifications to avoid reimbursing customers for any damages incurred. Given these circumstances, I highly recommend exploring other companies that offer insurance coverage and employ trustworthy personnel with verified backgrounds. It would be wise to conduct a simple online search to identify companies that provide insurance, ensuring a more reliable and satisfactory experience. AWFUL - AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Incompetent taskers and then when they damage your house or home Task Rabbit DOES NOT reimburse you! *************** had 4.9 Star review... I paid $300 for his services for him to hang 3 curtain rods. He screwed up two of them and also caused damage to the walls. I now have to pay $300 for someone to fix the damage that he caused. I'm now out $600. Ontop of all of this, the ****** started flat out harassing me/bombarding me with messages on the app after I left him a 1 star review.Task rabbit offered me a $77 refund for all of this headache out of the $300 spent. I have a 5 star rating with Task Rabbit and take all my jobs seriously with a professional and positive attitude. Im very communicative and discuss each project in detail. I ask clients to have everything they need to complete the job available and ready when I arrive. I experienced client abuse, again, recently from a painting job. Not only were the clients not prepared when I arrived but the clients bought the wrong paint twice. First the paint was too thin and then the thicker paint didnt adhere well to the previous paint because it had special additives that we never discussed. I was in constant communication with the client, letting them know through pictures and conversation that the project wasnt going as planned because they were not properly prepared. I couldnt finish the job because it would have created more of a mess. The client tried talking me down in price and hours for their mistakes. I wasted 6 hours. I called Task Rabbit and I was told to charge the client and any negative review would be taken down since I have proof Im not at fault. The client wrote a fictitious 1 star review (my first one) because they wanted a discount but Task rabbit did not remove it as promised. Ive had several Task Rabbit representatives read through my dispute and agree that the review should not be allowed to be posted. Task Rabbit says they dont post fake reviews but that is a lie! I have pictures and text conversations admitting clients fault yet Task Rabbit is allowing the clients experience to be posted. What happened to not posting fake reviews? I bust my tail to keep a 5 star rating out of over 100 reviews. The evidence I presented is ******* clear. No company morals or ethics. Dont expect any help from client abuse. *** asked for someone to explain to me how a fake review is allowed with all my proof presented. *** asked to know how to properly protect myself from further abuse but get no answers. Hard to want to continue to work for them!
