I am rejecting this response because:

I'd like for the account billing to be closed out and reduced to zero, and the specimen they have in storage be discarded in accordance with the form I completed over the summer.

    Sincerely,

I am reviewing this account, and we have not had any interaction with this patient in over 6 months.  The last documented communication I am seeing is she reached out to us to have a form filled out in September 2023 and we filled out the form and sent it where she requested.

I reached out to Laurel Fertility for fertility treatment. I had donor eggs in ****** which I wanted to bring here and after a long search I found Laurel Fertility that accepted the eggs and were willing to do the procedure. I gave all the information of the frozen egg bank and the two parties communicated. The nurse at Laurel fertility received information on the number of frozen eggs available etc. She pushed me to come in for a doctors visit in person to discuss the dates and next steps in the procedure. I specifically asked the nurse if she received all the information she needed as I had to make a long trip for the in person visit. She dismissed saying she has all the necessary information. Once I go there, I am immediately whisked away to get a scan done to check my uterus lining when I asked why am I getting this done even before talking to the doc, she mentioned that all patients get this done and promptly dismissed. When I met the doctor, he said that we didnt have enough eggs to form an embryo and continue this process. My trip was wasted. I went there coz the nurse pushed me, I called the nurse and they admitted that it was their error, I raised a complaint with my insurance and they got the consultation fees withdrawn. I am still asked to pay for the scanning fees which cost me $500 approx. My point is - why should I pay the fees when the mistake was the nurses? If they paid attention initially about the number of eggs, then i would not have pursued anything with Laurel fertility at all. Why should I pay for their oversight??

The patient stated that they were charged $500 for a scan fee and wanted a refund.  This patient did not pay our office any monies, as they have insurance that covered all appointments and scans.  Their insurance company is Progyny, and they paid our office for services rendered. The patient did not have to pay out of pocket to Laurel and if they have any issues or concerns, they should speak to their insurance provider.
