            On September 28, 2021 , Payward Ventures, Inc. dba Kraken settled charges (CFTC Docket No. 21-20), brought against the company by The Commodity Trading Commission. The settlement stems from allegations that between June 2020 to July 2021, Kraken offered margined retail commodity transactions in digital assets to U.S. customers who were not eligible contract participants and the company failed to register as a futures commission merchant (FCM).

            Without any admission of wrongdoing, Kraken has agreed to pay a $1.25 million civil penalty and will cease and desist from further violations of the Commodity Act (CEA).

            I deposited money ($1,500) into my account via ACH using Plaid on 10 May. The funds were available in the Kraken account. Later I found out the funds didnt go through. Kraken contacted me and asked me to make sure the $1,500 was available in my account for them to withdraw in order to avoid account liquidation. 18 May I let them know the $1,500 was available for withdrawal. ****** from customer service said they would let me know when the funds are taken. Instead today ******************************************************* email. I still had $13,500 in USDT in that account. Im asking for the account to be recovered OR the funds be returned to my bank account. Closing an account without notice is unacceptable especially when assets are still in the account that need recovered. Please respond and let me know how this is being resolved to avoid legal action.

            No stars if I could . I am in the same boat as many of you. My Kraken account lasted about a week or less before they locked it and my money. Sent them all the proper verification during setup. They verified and accepted my deposit via Plaid in the sum of 5k. Then after a pending order to test the system of $100 for a Bitcoin trade they locked my account and said they are closing it.My money is currently locked they say until May 31st. We will see. I think its time to call my bank now and make a report. I dont trust them.DO NOT USE THEM
