7/18/25 - I recieved a notification my paycheck had hit. I reviewed to find that an additional deduction had been made. Specifically a 401k deduction. One I had not signed up for. I was able to find an email and went into the portal created my account and set the contribution to 0%. Apparently i was auto set to 8% for this 401k deduction. I reached out to the company "Human Interest **** to request a refund with them saying it would take 90 days for this to get worked out where I could pull the money out. Is this not the definition of a scam? I never signed up for this and my check was shorted almost $300

I am filing this complaint against Human Interest **** due to an unauthorized withdrawal of $6,506.72 from my business bank account, stemming from a serious failure in their payroll integration system. The funds were withdrawn without my knowledge or consent. I no longer do business with this company, so saying it is a 'duplicate' is factually incorrect. According to a vague and unsigned email I received, this was caused by Human Interest processing duplicate payroll files due to changes made by their integration partner, *********. While the email acknowledges the error and states the funds "will be refunded as soon as possible," it provides no specific timeframe, no point of contact, and no accountability from any ************* date:I have emailed my assigned representative multiple times with no response.I have called their customer support line repeatedly, spending hours on hold, and have not been able to speak to a live person.I have not received a confirmation of refund timing, any tracking of the refund, or further communication since the original email. This is a critical financial issue. Human Interest withdrew a substantial amount of money without authorization, has failed to provide a timeline for reimbursement, and has made themselves entirely inaccessible.I am requesting:An immediate refund of the $6,506.72 to the account it was withdrawn from.A formal written apology and explanation signed by a company representative.A review and confirmation that no further unauthorized transactions will occur. If this matter is not resolved immediately, I will be forced to escalate further with regulatory agencies and explore legal options.Sincerely,**** ********

I am rejecting this response because:

    Dear Better Business Bureau,

At this time, I do not consider the matter resolved. While Human Interest has acknowledged the issue, they have not yet provided any substantive resolution. I expect the company to furnish a formal written statement acknowledging their error in wrongfully debiting our bank account, along with a clear explanation of the corrective actions they are taking to prevent this from ever happening again.

This document is necessary so that we can share it with individuals and businesses to whom checks or ACH debits may have been affected due to the unauthorized withdrawal.

The matter remains open until we receive this written acknowledgment, which is essential to help address the disruption their actions have caused.

    Sincerely,

    **** ********

We're still actively working on your concern and anticipate this to be completed as soon as this week.

I left a company and this money was transferred to ********** - I am attempting to roll these funds over to my established *** with ********. I have gone through the Fidelity transfer portal and the correct and legal request was made to ****** ********** initial request was made 6/15/2025. HumInt *** has refused to honor the request. I sent an email to HumInt *** on 7/8/25 asking them to please transfer my funds to ********. They asked for ID info. I complied. Now they are demanding I open an account with them. I do not see a point in doing this - I am trying to end my relationship with them, not give them more access to my personal data.

We have continuously been struggling with unfair treatments from our 401K service company, Human Interest for a while. They overcharged and took lots of our money ($4680) in 2023 and never returned them back to us. I have tried my best to get the money back over the last two years, but nothing worked out. They kept changing a dedicated service person for our case so many times, and I had to repeat the same things over and over again. They always delayed processing our requests by asking all different kinds of information again and again though our *** provided the super clear data many times. I ended up paying lots of expenses for consulting with **** and attorneys. I even called the *******************, but they said that they cannot help because this is not a matter between employers and employees. After some time, they stopped responding to my emails. We asked Human Interest many times to cancel the account, but they said that they cannot cancel it without solving this problem. Otherwise, they wont refund anything once the account is closed. So, they kept taking the service fee every month from my bank account directly. I searched my case online and found so many similar cases. It seems like this is one of their ways to do the business. I hope to receive the money ($4680) and all the monthly service charges ($2821) after I tried to cancel the account in June 2024.

I am filing this complaint because I have been trying to get a reimbursement dispute resolved for about a month now. I resigned from my position in March 2025. After receiving a statement from Human Interest after I resigned I realized that monies that had been previously deducted were not showing in my account. July *************** I paid $50 per week into the investment product and but the the monies have not been applied. I called Human Interest about 3 weeks to a month ago and a case was opened up, but I have been getting the run around since then. I have provided all info asked of me as well as the administrator has been in contact and providing info as requested. I am expecting to get a resolution with this complaint. I trusted this company for my investments only to realize my money has been placed somewhere else or lost and I have to go through weeks of calling to try to get a resolution ad still nothing has been resolved.

We contacted Human Interest in October 2024 by email and several recorded messages. Our account manager never replied to any messages of last several months. We finally found a round about way to make contact with the firm. The firm acknowledged receipt of request and said they would be able to terminate contract only backdated to Jan 2025 and they would send refund for the months prior to March. Then rather than receive a refund I received another withdrawal from my account. They refuse to call me or provide a contact phone number. I need them to stop before we need to seek other legal action

Begin date of transactions for handling 401K managment for my employees: 06/2022 01/2023 reporting of terminated employees had been taking place throughout the year, noticed that I was still being charged for employees that were terminated. I reached out to Human Interests mutliptle times through phone calls in ************************************************************************** my payroll reporting to Heartland, and Heartland reported to the Human Interets why I am still being charged. I called my Representativeat Human interests, for months no rerturned phone calls, I called the direct phone number to Human Interest, and completed a form on their website- no response, this went on for months, charges were piling up, and finally by contacting my Representative with Heartland, asked her to contact that she referred to me at Human Interest to contact me, and when the Representative responded instead of callling me she emailed me telling me that they were not receiving the updates from Heartland. She was to follow up with email on details and communicate with Heartland on receiving the transmission and update the terminations to give me credits to my account, that last update was never followed through to me from Human Interests. The same charges were still being billed to me auto***** draft from my business bank account, therefore, I blocked the auto***** draft from my bank account because at this point we were in the end of 2023. I recently received an invoice roughly $1600.00 stating they were sending me to collections. I asked again for them to list terminated the employees that were let go this last year ********* without asking for resolution proof of charges for the previous years of ********* that I was inquiring for a resolution that they never responded. They replied to me "with we cannot give you a credit balance until I agree to unblock your bank auto ***** draft account with **********************." This is Fraud!

I took a distribution from my Human Interest account when I left my previous employer and rolled the money into a **** ***. Human Interest filed my form incorrectly, and I called on 2/24/25 to have this rectified. They said within 2 business days they'll let me know. It took 5 days for them to tell me that they did, infact, make a mistake. They then said it will be 5-10 days for the corrected form to get mailed ****** is now 3/31/25 and I still do not have the form. I've called their customer support line, I've called their processing division, and no one seems to have any clue where my form is. All I get is "we'll reach out in the next 2 business days with an answer" and guess what - no response. Time and time again. I called last week and spoke to someone who sounded like she didn't know the first thing about my account. She said by the end of the week I'd get a response. Nothing. Of course. So I guess tomorrow I'm going to wake up and call again. I'll probably start calling daily at this point just to annoy them into ACTUALLY DOING THEIR JOBS. Because that's what it seems to take. Not sure where else to escalate this issue to, but I'll be calling the *** tomorrow morning as it seems they have a special department for companies that like to drag their feet at the expense of the individual who contributed to their plan. At this point they've been so abhorrently slow that I might have to file an extension on my taxes due to their inability to send a form in the mail. This is an absolute JOKE of a company !!!
