I am the owner of ***********, an architectural firm, and I am filing a complaint against BuildZoom for knowingly hosting false and defamatory reviews on my companys profile. These reviews are part of a coordinated smear campaign targeting my business, causing financial harm and reputational damage.I have repeatedly contacted BuildZooms support team to report these fraudulent reviews, providing evidence that they contain false statements intended to mislead potential clients. Despite multiple requests, BuildZoom has failed to take action, allowing the defamatory content to remain on their platform.BuildZooms refusal to investigate or remove the fraudulent reviews constitutes negligence and tortious interference with business relations, as their platform is knowingly allowing false information to harm my business. Under U.S. defamation laws, publishing or failing to remove damaging false information is actionable, especially when it negatively impacts a companys ability to conduct business.Due to BuildZooms inaction, I have suffered:Loss of business opportunities due to the false information displayed on their platform.Reputational harm, as potential clients are deterred by misleading and defamatory claims.Emotional distress from having my companys integrity attacked without recourse.I am requesting that the *** investigate BuildZoom for unfair business practices and failure to uphold platform integrity by permitting defamatory content. Furthermore, I ask that BuildZoom be held accountable for its negligence in failing to remove fraudulent reviews after being notified. Please let me know if you need additional details or evidence. I appreciate your attention to this matter.Business Response

We take concerns about reviews on our platform very seriously and strive to maintain fairness and accuracy in our review process. After reviewing our records, we found that we received only one review dispute from *** Designs on April 12, 2024, which was approved. If there are additional reviews that you believe are false or unfair, we encourage you to submit a dispute with supporting evidence. Our team will carefully review the information in accordance with our guidelines and take any necessary action.
BuildZoom remains committed to ensuring that all reviews adhere to our policies and that businesses are treated fairly. Please feel free to reach out to our support team at ********************************** with any additional evidence or concerns.Initial Complaint

Build Zoom contacted us (buzz electric) via email February ****** The email identified them as an owner representative looking for an electrician. We asked for more information and another email came that asked us to click a button to see the owners information and we did not click the button. I googled buzz electric vallejo and found build zoom had put us on their website (?) with erroneous information linking us to a contractor in ************ with a disconnected phone number one could click on. I have made every effort to contact them, having dialed their number over 100 times, and played ring around the ***** with their customer support bots I have come to the conclusion that there are no real people there. Maybe though their is one person kind of like the wizard of oz, this listing is harmful to our business, maybe the person behind the curtain could correct their mistake.Business Response

It has come to my attention that this company buildzoom has created a profile under my company's name and has been advertising on the internet to potential customers we are not licensed or insured and has created a website to gather customers information and details to then take potential customers from my business *****************************. I am the owner and buildzoom has no affiliations to our company and has never been contacted for any service. This company has stolen thousands of dollars worth of potential customers and is a complete scam and misleading customers with deceptive business practices. I have made multiple attempts to contact them to remove my company from the site and have been ignored. Will be contacting an attorney for defamation claim as well as seeing compensationBusiness Response

I have been requesting the $500 rebate that I am due, according to my signed contract with BuildZoom since November 13th of 2024 (almost two months now), but have not received ***** where in my contract with them, nor in their Terms and conditions is there a valid reason for not giving me the rebate for my project. This is a shame and a shock that BuildZoom should act in such a manner. I would like assistance from BBB in receiving what I am due by this business.Business Response

On December 1, 2024, I contacted BuildZoom via email at ********************************** to request the removal of my inactive contractor profile. The profile in question, for ******* *****, is publicly accessible at the following URL:***************************************************************** am no longer an active contractor, and maintaining this profile could cause confusion for individuals seeking current contractor services. Additionally, the profile contains my personal address and phone number, which exposes personally identifiable information (PII). This is a privacy concern, as the profile is publicly visible and easily accessible.Despite my efforts to contact BuildZoom and resolve this matter directly, I have not received any response or acknowledgment from their support team. There was no financial transaction involved, but BuildZooms failure to take action to remove my profile negatively impacts my online privacy and could mislead potential clients.Business Response

We are writing to address a significant issue with BuildZoom regarding the mishandling of our account and the cessation of our listings. On October 30, we were informed that our account had been placed on hold due to a complaint about missing a meeting scheduled for September 16, which is inaccurate and unfair. The meeting was improperly scheduled. On September 4, we expressed initial interest in a project but later determined that Denvers licensing requirements differed from ***************, particularly for *** compliance. We communicated our withdrawal via voicemail on September 6 and followed up with an email on September 16, reiterating that we would not pursue the project. Despite this, the meeting was left scheduled, and we received no confirmation of our withdrawal. On October 30, a customer service representative informed us of the complaint and revealed that we had stopped receiving listings since September. Despite this, BuildZoom has continued to charge us $99 per month without notifying us that our account was on hold or providing any listings. Furthermore, since October 30, we have sent seven emails to BuildZoom with no response, leaving the issue unresolved and disrupting our *********** a top 1% contractor in our area, we value our relationship with BuildZoom and seek the following resolutions:Immediate restoration of our listings.Clarification of charges: While we recognize this may have been an oversight, we are willing to overlook the charges if our account is reinstated promptly and listings resume.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: I was not asking for them to remove our business from their website, I was asking them to close out our account with them, which is still active. I would assume if they close out our account, our business would no longer be listed on their website as well.
