I wanted to share my current experience with Wefunder, a crowdfunding platform, which has been quite troubling. I think it's important to express my concerns about their unfair and deceptive trade practices, as well as possible SEC compliance issues.Background information:When I decided to seek crowdfunding for my company, I turned to Wefunder for assistance, hoping they would serve as a helpful intermediary in navigating the complex world of SEC and Federal Regulations. Unfortunately, the situation has taken a confusing turn, worsened by the apparent lack of expertise of the individual overseeing our campaign, who seems to be inexperienced in this field. Matters at hand:1. Unforeseen circumstances: Wefunder has unexpectedly required us to secure $50,000 in investments before we can proceed with the necessary filing process. It feels like we're being held captive here, and it's impeding our advancement with our SEC registration.2. Practices that are misleading and dishonest: It appears that the platform is utilizing our campaign for promotional purposes without providing transparent information in their terms and conditions. The $50,000 investment requirement, which is not clearly stated in their terms, seems to function as a hidden and misleading trade practice.3. Obstacle to Progress: The lack of clarity regarding their requirements hinders my company's ability to pursue an IPO during the campaign, which could potentially violate our rights.Past efforts to find a resolution:Despite expressing concerns to Wefunder, a resolution has not been reached. The ongoing presence of our campaign on their platform adds to the intricacy of the situation.I am contacting the Better Business Bureau to look into these issues and help facilitate a fair resolution. In addition, I am considering legal options, such as pursuing action under the SEC Whistleblowers Act, due to the apparent breaches of SEC regulations.

The law requires that Wefunder perform fraud checks and due diligence on companies that raise on Wefunder. This company was informed about our rules and process for doing so - a process put in place to protect investors - and decided not to follow them. Instead, they circumvented our compliance review and named Wefunder as the intermediary hosting their fundraise. In order to best protect investors, we have chosen not to work with this company.

My investment was handled efficiently and timely. I've had problems on other sites, but so far all has gone well with Wefunder.

I wasnt sure if I edited my investment amount correctly. I sent an email and **** got back to me shortly after. He made the adjustment without me having to do anything else! I was happily surprised how quickly this was done.

While I'm not able to speak to the investment side (other than I am an investor and it's quite clear what I'm getting into, and no pressure whatsoever), I can say I received almost an immediate response from Merc RE a question about my investment. I appreciate the quick response and knowledgeable as well. Good sense of humor and available. If I ever had a problem, I'm sure the issue would be taken care of promptly. Thanks!

I made a mistake on Saturday 2/11/23 and alerted customer service right away via email. Merc, a customer service agent, emailed me back on Sunday 2/12/23 after the Superbowl, to inform me that the issue had been resolved. This was Better than a Timely Fasshion, plus issue resolved, equals a Winning Combination!

They manually edit investment amount after I vested and increased fees above the maximum amount! They also charged my debit card without permission they thought my payment did no go thru

I looked into your case and can see that there was a mistake in fee calculation, which I have passed along to the engineers to look at. It appears that it was due to the amount of edit amount requests that were submitted along with multiple payment methods.Because of the inconvenience I did the following:- Refunded the entire $207 fee that was charged to you. It was sent to your bank account and you should see that within 3-5 business days.- I added $207 in credits to cover the "fee" in this instance. It will still show the fee on your account, but Wefunder has paid if now instead of you.In the future, know that we will get you taken care of - but hope you can understand that we aren't available during holidays or weekends.Merc Head of Investor Success Wefunder, Inc.
