Paid for well care for my dog. Vaccine updates and flea treatments and besides the over booked location, computer was down, printer down, had to ask where my cert was thats why Im aware of system issues. I came home to put the brochure away felt something in package and there was a flea chew. There is no instructions I was not advised of such dosage when to give etc. I thought it was provided at the time of service not to go! called no answer called customer svs filed complaint transferred again the *** ***** or **** refused to get me a supervisor. There was a party was going on in the background. He laughed a few times and forgot what he was saying silent and kids playing in the background was so very unprofessional, attempted to read me a script before even knowing the situation or my name. so now I paid over $200.00 to not know if my dog was treated or not. Waiting for a call back but based on previous complaints dont believe Ill get one. So very unorganized appt means nothing, vet told me she and staff were just as frustrated, really they getting paid Im not Im paying for this mess. never again this is the ********* location and for all I know could overdose my beloved fur friend and these guys could care less. They need to be shut down before they kill something. Worst experience ever. Ill take my business to a real business who actually cares about their customers. Im going to tell post everything I can to stop this nonsense. Pets are loved and for a pet company Im in disbelief that this is how they operate.

Sat July ******, took my dog for a vaccination, was denied service, technician stated that my dog had adverse reactions to previous vaccination which is totally false and incorrect, they obviously have my pet mixed up with someone else's pet. So I call customer-service, they refuse to put me through to a supervisor, instead they claim you will be call back, so needless to say, I had to tell the same story 4 days in a row only to hit a dead end. Never dealing with management, instead I received a generic message stating the decision cannot be change in spite of the fact that their computer system has no notes to support the incorrect claim that my dog had an adverse reaction. So now because he can't gat vaccinated nor can he get groomed as a result of being "behind" on vaccinations, i am forced to pay out of pocket for a total physical due to vetcos mistake in order to prove he does not adversely react to vaccination. So if that is required for me to have to prove that vetco made a mistake be having to pay for a vet visit, vetco/petco should cover the fee.

Dear Vetco Clinics and Petco Customer Service,I am writing to formally request an immediate correction to my dogs rabies vaccination certificate, which was issued incorrectly and has remained unresolved for over a year despite multiple attempts to contact your *********** are the details:* Owner: ********* **** * Pet Name: Flora * Vaccination Date: March 2, 2024 * Location: ***** ************************************************************** * Vaccine Manufacturer: Zoetis * Vaccine Given: Vanguard Rabies The certificate as attached is erroneously indicates the vaccine is valid for 1 year, with an expiration date of March 2, 2025. However, I was clearly informed the Zoetis Vanguard Rabies 3*Year vaccine was administered, which should be valid until 2027. According to the standard vaccination protocol, the first rabies shot is usually valid for 1 year, and the second shot given at age 1+ is typically a 3*Year booster, especially when using Zoetis Vanguard Rabies. My dog was 1 year and 3 months old at the time of vaccination on March 2, 2024, making her eligible for the 3*Year vaccine. This supports that the certificate should have reflected a 3*Year validity, expiring in 2027, not 2025.The incorrect certificate puts my dog at risk of being forced into an unnecessary additional vaccination, which may be harmful to her health, and it has also caused ongoing issues with compliance documentation for registration and travel. This issue has persisted for a full year with no resolution. This is unacceptable for a veterinary provider and violates both consumer protection standards and basic animal welfare principles.I hereby request:1. A corrected rabies certificate reflecting 3*Year validity;2. Confirmation of the vaccine lot number and label information If I do not receive a response or corrected certificate within 5 business days, I will be filing a formal complaint **************************************Sincerely, ********* **** Phone: ********** Email: **********************

We have reviewed our records and can confirm that the pet parent did not contact Vetco's *********** at ************. Our team has just now been made aware of this guest's concerns. After reviewing the medical records, we can not speak as to why the ******************** veterinarian chose to mark the 03-02-2024 Rabies as a one-year. However, due to the time that has lapsed, we are unable to make changes to the medical record to adjust it to a three-year. While the Rabies vaccination is marked as a three-year by the manufacturer, the vaccination's due date is determined by the vaccinating veterinarian and previous medical history. We have added a complimentary Rabies vaccination to your pet's account to be redeemed within 120 days. Vaccinations are given at the discretion of the Vetco Vet and if there's any questions we encourage the guest to make an appointment to discuss with them.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 07/03/2025

I actually contacted Vetco multiple times shortly after the vaccinationboth in person and via emailand never received any response. The clinic I visited eventually closed, and no one followed up with me.

Now, over a year later, Ive only just been informed that the solution offered is to give her another unnecessary dose? This is completely unacceptable. My dog is tiny, less than 8lbs.

Let me repeat the issue. My dog received the Zoetis Vanguard 3-Year rabies vaccine on March 2, 2024, but it was incorrectly recorded as a 1-Year vaccine by Dr. ******* **. This is not a question of veterinary discretionit is a documentation error.

The manufacturer clearly identifies this as a 3-Year vaccine, and there is no medical reason to override that without cause, especially when this was Floras second rabies shot.

I do not want a complimentary rabies vaccine. I want an accurate and corrected rabies vaccination certificate showing the 3-Year duration.

Please contact Dr. ** or the relevant medical records team to resolve this. I need the corrected documentation for international travel and compliance purposes, and I expect this to be addressed promptly.

The Vetco Vaccination Clinic and the Total ************* in **********, ******* are ripoffs. They are trying to force us to purchase a particular brand of heartworm preventative when we told them we don't use that brand. The brand they're pushing is more expensive and my dogs hate it. They told us if we don't buy it within 30 days of the appointment that the results of the exams would be null and void and we would have to pay again for testing. We told them that we already had a supply of medicine and didn't want more OR that brand. Their Dr. ***** basically said tough luck! She was also quite rude and nasty and then put me on hold. They never sent Rx via email for one of our dogs . They also entered that we declined medication so we can't go anywhere to buy medicine when needed. A disgusting experience. I will take my dogs to a REAL PET CLINIC, pay for testing and get the medicine that they need to ensure that they don't die from heartworm disease. I would like to be reimbursed for my expenses since the visit in January was a waste of money. We still have 2 months of medicine left for our fur babies, thank goodness. Those pirates will never see another dime from us.

I had an appointment at a Vetco, in *************, to have my dog given a Rabies vaccine. Upon registering, at the front desk, they asked me, if my dog, ever had a reaction to a vaccine. I said no, he was just a little lethargic. The veterinarian on duty, refused to give my dog the vaccine, even though, the girl at the front desk, confirmed that I said, he was just a little lethargic. I am a disabled senior, I paid for transportation and waited, over an hour and a half, for my dog to be seen. Corporate doesnt answer the phone and I want them to vaccinate my dog, at the earliest time and day, they have available. There was no reason, for them to refuse, the vaccine. My dog has been receiving vaccines, from Vetco for years, in a different state.

On Sunday June 1st we brought our two dogs to Vetco for vaccine updates and a heart worm test. The vet we met with, ****** *****, was the most unprofessional, unfriendly, unyielding vet Ive ever met and shouldnt work with animals. My 48 lb dog was nervous but instead of making ANY effort at all to gain her trust she just said muzzle her as soon as she saw her which further added to my dogs worry. The tech didnt know how to hold my girl so they can draw her blood while I tried to settle my pup down (shes one years old). The vet was scolding the tech for this. We tried holding our dog by the top where her face was to keep her feeling protected and safe but she told us we werent allowed, that our job was just to stand there and distract her. She purposefully wanted to be difficult and torment the animal. She barely attempted the blood draw and just said do it on the next visit. She was upset the tech couldnt hold my dog correctly. Mind you, my dog is just standing there while we did hold her despite what that woman said. Weve never not been able to assist at Vetco or primary care vet. She struggled to give my muzzled dog the oral bordatella. I offered to do so and she said no. She couldnt be asked to reposition herself so she asked to reposition my dog multiple times, wouldnt bend down to the ground. She made my dog more nervous, now muzzled, and being treated by a callous person. She then asked to place my 48lb dog on the high table which I told her was a bad idea, mind you, still muzzled. My dog flipped and jumped off towards us where we caught her, all 48lbs. This woman was incredibly unprofessional and purposefully difficult because she felt she had the power to do so. She was also ill experienced with animals. We know our dog best and she listened to nothing.

Due to the nature of our clinics, sometimes we are not the best fit for even the most well behaved pets. We apologize for the poor experience. When returning for your pet's pending services, a different veterinarian may be working.

We value you as a Guest, and your feedback helps us continue to improve *****.

      Customer Answer

The response from Vetco and lack of accountability and lack of identifying root of issue is unacceptable. I have taken all three of my dogs to the same Vetco clinic over the last 4 years. I have never had such a terrible encounter. Vetco should strive to provide care to all animals and recognize the importance of establishing a professional relationship with the pet and owner for a successful outcome during a very short interaction. When an agent that represents Vetco cant even attempt to do that, theyre failing everyone and should be held accountable.

Vetco covers a first free visit for any pet. I have a cat that I took in from outside and it has had a little trouble breathing ever since I brought it in months ago I kept thinking it would get better, but it never did so I wanted to take it to the vet to see if it needed medication or something was stuck in his throat. Vetco offred me a free first time coupon and even emailed it to me. My notes that said he had occasional intermittent trouble breathing. They called me back and said it was an emergency and he needed to go to the vet right away even though hes been in that condition for months.they canceled my appointment and I called him up and told them that my pet just needed a visit. It was not an emergency. They rescheduled my appointment and then called me back later and decided no matterwhat I said it was an emergency and my coupon would not be valid. This is not fair it is not an emergency as I stated them several times they just dont wanna give out what they promised.

we took 2 of our pets to a vetco vaccine clinic at ***** store in ************* on may 17 2025. we paid $150 for vaccines and lab work to make sure dogs tested negative for heart worm and flea and tick born illness. all was negative. the vet did not put orders in for flea and tick meds or heart worm prevention after being asked. we were told it was out in , but after we left which is when you get the email w shots and then prescriptions , the prescriptions were missing. we called vetco and they did nothing and said they would put in message for manager to call us. we never heard back and called again , was again told we d get a call. here we are 10days later and no resolution and no manager call back they are refusing to correct their mess up . they even told us they messed up. there has been no ownership to their mess up and now we are forced to take them to another vet solely to get refills of heartgard and nexguard put in place . this was the main reason we had our dogs seen as we needed refills on meds . we have also filed a case w our bank to get our money back we paid for this when the services that were promised were not given . this place is a fraud .

This has not been resolved at all. we are still short refills . They did put in refills for 9 months for flea and tick and still only 6 months for heartgard. both are supposed to have 12 month refills. They even admitted to us they messed up . Still not resolved.

      Business Response

We can confirm that both prescriptions on file are for 12 months worth of product. The prescription for Nexgard is for quantity 3 with 3 refills and the prescription for Heartgard is for quantity 6 with 1 refill, making both scripts valid for 12 doses.

Petco and Vetco that work together were supposed to provide the vaccination record and adding the microchip number for my dog that has been provided to them several times to the executive office and they have not done so. I have spent several days weeks , taken time off from work to resolve this issue and still it has no been corrected .I am now requesting to provide the vaccination record with the microchips number included and I am requesting $200 for the time that has taken me to resolve this issue and the cost associated with another vet to provide a rabies certificate that shows the microchip since petco didnt included one . Even tho the microchip number was provided to them several times If executive office doesnt not resolve this issue I will forward this complaint to the board of directors including the Mr **** D. ******** ceo of *****. Attached is the certificate by petco with no microchip and attached is also the one I had to get from a vet with the payment Ill provide copy of receipt if needed for the $200 Attached is also a certificate from past years of how any place includes the microchip.

We recommend that this pet parent make an appointment to take their pet to any Vetco Vaccination clinic and ask the clinic team to scan their pet for the microchip number and add the number to their pets profile. Were very sorry, but **************** personnel do not have the authority to add a pets microchip number to their vaccine records over the phone or by email as this is considered a change to the pet's medical record. Only the clinic teams can make changes to the medical record with the pet present.
