Upon hearing Vercy Tax's radio advertisement in ********** ****** ** sometime around the end of 2021 and the beginning of 2022 that said they can handle back taxes owed to the IRS by seeking a Resolution with the IRS on our behalf, I signed up with the company paying them $800 in payments over the course of 2022 to get a resolution with the IRS for me and my husband's back taxes.
Over the past 1.5 year we have been working with Vercy Tax, they have had over 6 different case managers assigned to our case (one after another with neither of them knowing what is going on with our account) and the only thing they have done thus far is file our 2022 Taxes.
As of today, Thursday, June 20, 2024, upon speaking with Johnny Briones and his supervisor/manager Marie, they are now saying that I did not sign up for a Resolution (when that is the only reason I even contacted them according to their advertisement which now seems to have been false advertising). I told them that is not right because the only purpose me and my husband acquired the company's business was to get the Resolution with the IRS that Vercy Tax stated they are able to do with our account with them for the $800. Up until today, there was never any mention of the amount we paid them having anything to do with how much taxes we owe.
Vercy Tax now appears to have scammed me and my husband out of $800 just to file one tax return with no resolution to our back taxes. They are basically saying our case is done and we have to open up a new case (pay more money) for them to get the Resolution.Business Response

We understand ********* **************** frustration, and I assure you that here at Vercy Tax, we have been diligently working on her tax liability of $19,734 over the past few years. ********* ************** came on board on January 21, 2022, for a full tax investigation. We proceeded to a tax resolution on March 25, 2024, reducing her liability to $800. This saved her thousands of dollars. Despite our continuous efforts, including calls from our case managers, attorneys, and enrolled agents, we've struggled to maintain consistent communication with her over the past year.
Unfortunately, we cannot provide a refund because our team has fulfilled our duties on ********* **************** behalf with the IRS. We had active 8821 and 2848 forms for ********* **************, which facilitated lowering her tax liability from $19,734 to $800. During our last conversation on June 20, 2024, it became clear that ********* ************** had not communicated her current tax situation with the IRS. She signed a contract agreeing to stay up to date with the IRS for the next three years for the resolution to be fully effective.
********* ************** did not pay for additional services after the original resolution. Our team was ready to assist her further, but she did not maintain proper communication with us. While we are happy to proceed with the next steps, she currently owes more to the IRS and has not stayed up to date with her new taxes. She was informed of the additional fees for tax preparation, which she refused to pay.

In our previous communication, we highlighted ********* **************** lack of communication with our team. As stipulated in our agreement contract, clients are not eligible for a refund if they fail to fulfill their obligations or breach any terms of the agreement. ********* ************** discontinued communication with us, and our standard procedure is to process refunds promptly within three days of payment. Her payment was processed on 3/25/22, and given that she agreed to the terms and conditions outlined in our contract, issuing a refund at this point is not feasible.
Our team successfully completed the tax investigation with a comprehensive resolution. Despite our efforts, ********* ************** did not maintain communication, which is crucial given the implications of this tax liability and its three-year probationary period with the IRS.
We are open to renewing our contract with ********* ************** to ensure our efforts do not go in vain. However, she has blocked our attempts to communicate, hindering further progress.
We recommend that the BBB reach out directly to ********* **************, as she appears to be unresponsive to our calls. We remain committed to resolving this matter and appreciate your attention to it.Customer Answer

Please know that this is not a full rejection to Vercy Tax's response. We truly appreciate their responses & their efforts to resolve this
matter. We accept their offer to renew our contact to proceed with the progress of obtaining the completed resolution with the IRS.
The only reason I had cut off communication with the company is
because they told me we had to open a new case meaning we had to pay additional
costs (another full amount for a new contract) to get the resolution they have already sought. Unfortunately, we
absolutely do not have that kind of extra money because we are currently struggling to
manage paying our rent & utilities right now due to me losing my job.
It is totally understandable that a refund is not feasible since
work has already been done on our case but just had not been completed. We definitely
would not want the company's efforts to go in vain neither, it would be a true blessing to get a successful resolution with the IRS for our tax debt. That is
the only main thing we are seeking to achieve and the reason we initially sought Vercy Tax's business.
We honestly have no issue accepting the IRS terms and
probationary period to receive the Resolution. I ask that Vercy Tax please
inform me of the current Case Manager name & phone number that way I can

I paid money to this company to resolve my tax situation in May 2021. It is now almost 3 years. Nothing has ever changed. I gave them all my tax info to them to file a few times. First I was told the person working on it left etc. Never saw a copy of it or what I owed. I had to re-send it. I have had so many people working on my case!! No one ever calls back!! I have been paying. An attorney from Vercy and a different attorney both told me the IRS debt was resolved by time (10 yrs.) - not what anyone did. If they could show they can resolve the state garnishment, my wife is willing to pay $5000 in a lump sum. And as I've told them, when the IRS sends a letter saying we are debt free and the liens are removed- I will start payments again. I know that the IRS can re file for up to a year.Initial Complaint

I contracted with Vercy Tax in May of 2022 and its been a NIGHTMARE! They DO NOT return phone calls unless you call them 7,8,9 times which could be due to their consistent and high turnover rare where I've gone through 4 case/project managers all of whom do NOT have a clue as to the process and requirements. I also investigated ALL of their 5 STAR ****** Reviews on their website, they are ALL are FAKE! Everytime I would talk to someone, which again took SEVERAL attempts over weeks to get a return call, they'd tell me " Oh, we need you to fill out this, or we need you to send us that, oh, here's another signature that we need" over the course of almost TWO YEARS, when they should have ask, and I would have gotten them, ALL the docs and signatures they needed to move forward with my case. BUT THAT'S NOT ALL!!!I had called the *** Offer in ****************** One was finally submitted after a year and half, A YEAR AND A HALF of going back and forth before they submitted an Offer in Compromise to the ***. It seems that even the *** has called Vercy Tax and the *** never received a return call .. yet they have NO PROBLEM taking my money. This process has dragged out due to their incompetence, and I STILL Have not heard back from them after a week of leaving messages.... probably because the case worker I was speaking with left the company and I have to fight to find out who is next in line to "help". These *** Services are full of promises, fancy websites, reviews ( which are all fake) and are supposed to help relieve your tax situation, at least a little: BUT all Vercy Tax Relief has done is INCREASE the stress and anxiety of dealing with my tax situation that after over a YEAR AND A HALF I still have no resolution or see one in sight. THEIR lack of professionalism, communication, and passion to help. There is no higher level of dissatisfaction I've felt dealing with any other company. Vercy Tax promised me that they could reach a resolution with *** on my behalf to pay a fraction of the debt. We signed an agreement and they did very little on the case besides filing a few tax returns. I had to hire an accountant to refile one of tax returns because it was incorrectly filed. For three years, there has been no resolution on the case. The debt was eventually sold to third party collection agencies. I repeatedly requested for Vercy Tax to contact the *** to have the debt transferred back. They failed to take any action. Recently, the contacted me twice in attempt to renegotiate the existing contract by making the same promise they had previously made that they still have not been able to deliver. I told Vercy Tax, they were running a scam business and unfairly taken advantage of their consumers.Business Response

I hired this company for tax issues business and personal They took over 9k from my account. I have gotten letters from the *** after hiring these people. I have had 4 or 5 so called case managers whom called a little in the beginning I filled out every paper they ever sent. From the last case worker up until last week I have not heard from these people emailing filing complaints with my State AG I These folks sent a docusign of the agreement I was never able to download I have since hired a reputable company i dont want anything to do with this companyBusiness Response
