    This business is scamming money out of customers. My son is a victim. We booked the reservation. They collect prepaid money and then they cancel it. Never giving money back

    26 May -29 May, $1806 plus the original rental fee of $83 They committed to provide a car rental with unlimited mileage dispute is, they changed the unlimited mileage to 50 miles per day and prohibited travel to an adjoining state after I got the vehicle The business REFUSES to resolve the problem, in fact they've changed the amount I owed once I protested the charge of $1159.The rental was made through Expedia

    Ive reserved a rental car with Mex car through ************* and prepaid for the car. When I go to pick up the car they told me that I need insurance for the rental and they want the declaration of the insurance policy. I provided that to them then the guy reach behind his desk and grab a sheet of paper stating that they only take a selected insurance companies because the insurance companies thats not listed on the sheet of paper takes too long for payout. So he told me to buy their insurance policy for $57 a day. I told them to cancel my reservation and give me a refund and he told me I have to deal with Priceline knowing that Priceline only allow you to cancel within 24hrs before picking up the car. I contacted ********* customer service and they told me to standby on the phone and they would try to reach out to Mex Car rental. I heard the phone ring and the guy pick it up and then he hung up the phone pretending he couldnt hear the other party on the phone. Priceline called them multiple times as I can see the phone ringing and he keep on hanging up. I requested for a supervisor from Priceline for help and she said she put in a request to cancel my reservation and give me a refund back as soon as they can reach Mex Rental Car. Im still waiting for Priceline to get back to me. Please shut this company down for their dishonesty and trying to scam people.

    Booked rental car in my boyfriends name thru Priceline for pick up at Mex Rent A Car confirmation #APRL08A3E9 - at ******************* on 4/9. At counter we were informed only *** could be the driver & couldnt use my full coverage w/State Farm, *** only has liability coverage. Informed the agent we wanted to change the reservation to my name & was informed we couldnt. Immediately looked to rebook the reservation under my name w/Priceline & clicked on Cancel Reservation. The agent told me he would check to see if it was canceled & informed us it wasnt and couldnt be. He informed us he had to put full coverage on the reservation. He asked if we wanted toll bridge coverage. We informed him we were only driving to ************** & would pay cash at toll booth. He told us ******* removed cash payment at toll booths & if we didnt pay wed get a ticket & pay a fine. He enforced $12.99 a day to cover toll charges. We found on the only toll we went there was a cash lane confirming we were lied to. The car had less than tank of gas & the brakes would grind when you applied the brakes.After returning the car yesterday the receipt shows me as an add'l driver; my State Farm coverage would have covered me-we were lied to. Instead of being charged contracted *** w/Priceline of $213.04 we were charged $732.53, still including my security deposit of $250.00.When we got to the airport immediately called Mex Rent A Cars cust svc line & on hold for over an hour. Informed agent I hadnt been refunded my security *********** wanted to dispute the charges. Was told I wouldnt get my security deposit for 15 to 30 business days & couldnt do anything about chgs. Asked to speak to mgr & told impossible.Want my security deposit immediately refunded & the difference of $269.49 chg'd compared to contracted *** credited back to my credit card.Its our opinion this companys policy is deceit & force up-chgs.

    Upon picking up the car, they said they do not accept our insurance and forced us to pay $30/day for their insurance, which I have never heard of from any rental company. Also we rented this car in ***** and drove to the beach; therefore, there is some minor sand in the car and they charged us $75 which other companies do not. They're in a beach state and hence some sands in the car are to be expected. They're scamming people and charging ridiculous stuff. This is a bad practice business and should not be in business.

    I booked reservation paid up front in full and then when I arrived they tell u that u must have additional insurance even though its not mandatory and i told them I dont want any additional insurance and i have insurance bebnefits from the cc and from my own car insurance and that I really dont want or meed any additional insurance but they still charged me a ridiculous high amount

    This mex renta car is playing dumb like they don't know me when in fact I was with them on the phone many many many times and  a lot of emails conversations so I'm absolutely still dissatisfied and very very disappointed for the rippoff they did

    This business is deceitful in it's pricing and bait & switch processes. The need to provide a copy of your car insurance policy is absurd. I understand needing proof if insurance, but I should not be asked to provide a copy of my policy only to then be charged $19 per day to use the insurance I already have, pay for, and provides coverage for the rental vehicle. It is a scam and the alternative is to cancel the reservation and lose the money already out down on the rental. I waited 2 hours for pickup a every poor customer ahead of me griped about this same issue in addition to the $2,500 deposit needing to be out down and held for the rental and basically being forced to purchase the Sun Pass through the rental car company or be hit with exorbitant fees. The person in front me in line said that he was going to contest the insurance charge and ******* then cnacelled his reservation for saying such with no warning or refund of his initial payment. I have never been through these requirements for any other car rental company I've used and it almost double the overall cost of the car rental compared to the posted rentalbrates online. I want my $129 refunded as this charge is absurd and outlandish.

    On December 19th, 2023 date I reserved a car rental on Priceline for the amount of $204.84. On December 24th, 2023 I picked up the car. Part 1: She said the car I wanted required a $2,500 hold fee and would cost twice as much as I reserved it for. So they did not honor the reservation at all. I said no, I can not give you $2,500 to hold for a rental nor could I afford the car rental. She said she thinks there might be a smaller car there.The worker said I needed to purchase their insurance. I told her I had my own insurance. She asked to see it. Then told me my deductible was not low enough. On their website under *************** ******************* there is nothing mentioned about any deductible amount. I am attaching that here for you to look over. Here is the link as well: **********************************************************************************************. It also never mentioned this when I initially reserved the car. I have those emails printed out and attached for you to look over as well. This made no sense to me. First point: I pay my deductible, not them. So it makes no difference to the care rental agency. Second point: One of the perks of having a major credit card is they will pay the deductible on car rental issues. Part 3: She looks at my insurance first then tells me my deductible is not low enough. When I ask how much it needs to be, she said under $500 which is an unusually low amount. Another customer who was very upset outside told me that the same lady told him his deductible needed to be under $300. So from one person to the next, they are telling different amounts because this is a scam. She charged me an Insurance Waiver of $174.95I declined and said I didnt want to rent a car that costs ***** with an Insurance waiver fee of almost the same price as the car.She tells me if I dont rent the car, she will charge my credit card the full amount of renting the car.I want my $174.95 returned to me. This was a scam.

    I rented a car through expedia.com. I picked up the car on 12.27.23 upon checking in I was told by the customer service agent that it was mandatory that I purchase 3rd party insurance as it's required by Mexican state law. I declined because my credit card covers third-party as well as my own personal insurance. I then was told that I would not get the car if the insurance that they were selling wasn't added on. Upon reading the terms on your website it doesn't state any of that. Also upon reading reviews and complaints this is a common tactic that is used by this company. I have also email the customer service and till this day I haven't received a response.Contract #GDL ******
