1 starLa peor compaa de prstamos , mi esposo est detenido desde el 12 REMOVEDde REMOVEDcomunicarme con Oportun y tratar de llegar a un acuerdo respecto al prstamo mi esposo y simplemente no quieren , todo para que la deuda siga aumentando y ello ganar ms REMOVEDtengo un power of Attorney y los de atencin al cliente ni siquiera saben que es , uno te dice si podemos congelar el prstamo otro te dice que no pueden hacer nada , simplemente han hecho odos sordos de esta situacin, les preguntas si tienen algn programa para situaciones financieras de emergencia te dicen que si pero que tienen que hablar Directamente con la persona an sabiendo que est detenida y no puede comunicar , y ni aunque cuente con una autorizacin escrita simplemente no quieren llegar a un acuerdo , horrible esta compaa de estafadores , poco profesionales , arrepentida de haberlos contactados alguna vez

1 starThis company is nothing but fraudulent. I closed my account in 2023 and have been getting charged $5 a month every month since. They tell you to close thru the app, but the app doesn't work and freezes upon opening. When you call in, you speak with someone who barely speaks English. They say "you have to close your account on the app" but the app doesn't give you an option to close the account. Meanwhile, they just take more money out every month and do so to where it's basically unnoticed. I've sent emails, unanswered. And the banks can't help without paying a fee to stop it. BEWARE OF THIS PRODUCT, they're nothing bur frauds and trap you into continually paying once you delete the app. When you reopen/download it doesn't work.

1 starI am writing this review to express my severe dissatisfaction with Oportun, Inc.'s credit reporting practices.Oportun, Inc. has reported a 'Charged Off' account on my credit reports. My Experian credit report for this account states it was 'Sold To: REMOVEDCAPITAL'.However, in an official response from REMOVEDdated July 16, 2025, regarding this same debt, REMOVEDexplicitly stated they were terminating collection efforts and would request deletion of their tradeline. Crucially, their response referred to themselves as acting as a third-party debt collector, not as the owner or purchaser of the debt.This constitutes a direct and undeniable contradiction in the reporting of debt ownership. Oportun, Inc.'s assertion of having 'sold' the debt is fundamentally inconsistent with the purported buyer's own clarification of their role. The information Oportun is furnishing regarding ownership is therefore inaccurate and unverifiable.I have filed complaints with multiple entities, including the REMOVED(REMOVED), the REMOVED(REMOVED), the State REMOVEDand the credit bureaus themselves, due to these persistent inaccuracies. Oportun, Inc. has a duty to furnish accurate and complete information. The continued furnishing and reporting of such fundamentally contradictory and misleading information violates the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Consumers should be aware of such problematic reporting practices.

1 starThis company just stole from me. Straight up theft. I set up an account because I thought they did payday loans. I put my card and bank info in and started a 12 month trial. Couldnt figure the loans out so I stopped trying and let the app sit. Fast foward about a month to today and I have a charge on my card for $125. The subscription service is $5 a month and I still have 11 months left in a free trial. I repeat do not give this company any of your info they will steal from you.

5 starsI have used this company 2x in the past and have never had a problem with them. It was so easy to get a loan, it was even easier to set up my automatic payments. Yes, the interest rates are very high, 30%, I believe. But I always paid on time and paid off the 2 loans a took. I never had an issue.

1 starTrying to deal with getting access to my money after my main bank account (REMOVED) had a fraud charge was nothing but hREMOVEDI needed access to the money in Oportun account but for some reason your customer service said I had to relink the account to REMOVEDI did and it showed linked on Oportun and my bank but every time I tried to transfer money, my account was frozen. I was beyond frustrated with your customer service help and it took forever until I finally gave up for a while. Then the other day I noticed that opportun managed to get their $5 from the linked account that I was constantly locked out of (when I needed access to my money) now all a sudden it worked. How convenient for opportun. I promptly took all my money out, waited to make sure it made it through my bank, and now I am done with you. I will make sure I share my story with others too. I wish they do it and they will know how this company is ripping off people with high interest on a freaking loan. Its insane. how much you and up paying on a small freaking loan

1 starThis loan company came in clutch for me when I needed the funds to move, but they do nothing but HARASS ME. I make my payments on time, and they still call me AFTER HOURS telling me that there is an important matter to discuss about my account. So the first few times, I called to ask. And they simply say oh just a reminder that your bill is due on xx/xx. THEN SAY THAT. I even tried to change my due date due to change in employment and my pay date, and they denied me, saying that I would have to completely refinance my loan or finish paying it off and start a new one? But watch. Im going to be absolutely gaslit with this review, saying they dont do any of this. DO NOT USE OPPORTUN.

1 starI used to love using oportun for my personal loan. They were fast, affordable, and reliable (according to the internet). I paid off my first loan of 1000 down to 500. They offered a refinance, which i took because I desperately needed the funds for my property/car tax. (777$). I was provided $2000 with the same interest as the last. Even if it was exorbitant, I had only had positive experiences REMOVEDforward to today and boom! Check my credit score and they have failed to report November's payments (they automatically report on the 4th) as well as still reporting that I have a balance of 1500 after I paid it down to 160$. REMOVEDcalling customer support to no avail. My word of advice now is different from before. I do NOT recommend oportun for any loan offers. They also call you weeks before and the same day your bill is due to hound you for payment. I had to threaten harassment charges before they stopped calling.
