I rented a storage at this location. Several months later I received a letter stating that the facility had been purchased by Devon Storage.In about July of 2022 I called Devon Storage to ask if a notice was needed when closing my storage I was told 2 weeks. I proceeded to inform them that I planned to close my storage in September. In Aug my son went to the storage to retrieve the table he uses when selling his items at events. The storage was found unlocked and gone through. He went to the office and was offered to sell him a new lock. I asked about my insurance because I had insurance with the previous owner and was told my insurance was not transfered over and that a letter was sent to me asking if I wanted to purchase insurance with Devon. I never received a letter from them regarding insurance, the only letter I received was to notify me of the change in owner and where to pay my monthly payment. I was also told that there have been 2 to 3 break ins a week. Had I been informed of this when I called about cancelling my storage I would have removed my things sooner. There are signs posted all over the property that there are 24 hour monitoring via video. That is not true, there are only cameras at the from entrance. The items in my storage were mostly items of my mother that passed away August 17 at 106 years old. The items were priceless. An air mattress and folding table was taken. Many items were broken. Every single box was opened and gone through., which I'm sure took some time to do. Devon has not offered any help or an apology. They stick to their claim that info was sent to me regarding insurance. I had insurance with the previous owners, of course I wanted insurance. I have never spoken to the same person twice at Devon. Again, there is no camera monitoring that part of the property but signs saying it is monitored are posted throughout the property Payment was also deducted from my son's acct after the storage was emptied.
